Toddlers Today's MomsTalk Archive SHELLY - Congrats on the horse! I have been around horses all my life. I just did trail rides until I was about 12, then I started competing western. When I turned 16, I started English - and now I am just starting to drive (took the pony out today in fact.) Where do you live? JAMIE - Marcus is doing great. He gets the stitches out tommorrow! ALICE - Glad that you finally know what is going on w/ the D&C. Have you checked into herbs that help? I am not sure what they are, but maybe someone else does? PARIS - Welcome Back!!!! MOE - Are you going back to correct spelling? Once you hit POST, the message goes up. If you hit the BACK button on the browser (to go back and correct spelling, etc) then hit POST again - you will get a double post. Just an idea. MARYC - Don't feel bad about not replying to everyone. There are too many people on the board to keep up w. everyone. I think that everyone understands if you don't have the time to keep up with the busy pace of TT. JULIANNE - Slides can be scarry! But the kids sure love them. PATTY - How can a parent be so stupid! The dumbing down of our kids is one of the reasons that I hate the public school system - Everyone learning at the slowest childs level. Everyone has to win, and everyone has to go home feeling good. UGH! I think that teachers do the kids a favor by challenging them. And if the kid can't keep up, maybe the parent needs to spend some more time with their kids! SO hey - my my kids come be in your class? LEE - I was in Tooele yesterday! (you can tell the natives by those who know how to pronounce it!) I live just over the mountain (my dad works at the Tooele Army Depot) Hope everyone feels better soon. PAULA - No, Marcus isn's scared of the dog, but then again - he wasn't "attacked" just bit. DH says its more like he just got hit by the dog with his mouth open. (the marks are far enough apart, and small enough that we don't think that he bit down.) BARBARA - Hey what else are MIL's good for? LISA B - Yes - I have the perfect comback when people say - "Close the door, you weren't raised in a barn, where you . . . ?" Theressa email: labor_story@yahoo.com Monday, May 01, 2000 at 00:55:16 (EDT)) Rebecca here... Barbara - I lived in Vancouver, BC in a 12 story building in one of the cheaper areas of town. We are now in Surrey in a family townhouse complex. Okay, I definately have total mommy brain, I forgot to tell you all about Paige going for a casting call for a Huggies comercial! She went last Tuesday and the call backs are the 2nd and 3rd and the filming is the 4th and 5th. They seemed to like Paige, but they say hundreds of kids. I think it would be neat if she got a part, but I don't really expect it. If you could keep your fingers crossed you might get to see my monkey on tv! I'm sorry there aren't any more personals but I have some cleaning to do before bed. XOXO Rebecca & Paige email: burn@canadawired.com Monday, May 01, 2000 at 01:39:12 (EDT)) Hello Mommies! Paris here. I've had a great weekend. Didn't spend a whole lot of time with Quinn actually. It was more with Alex and Toria teaching them how to play baseball. Alex is learning so fast! I'm so proud of him. We've been gardening too. Although Quinn tries to cover all the holes before we put the seeds in them! I really don't have a whole lot to say about her right now (bad mommy ignoring the little one ha ha) so I'll go on to personals. Moe: Three beer? That's like breakfast for me! LOL Julianne: Sorry to hear you are sick. :0( Alice: Well, honey, I knew you would miss me! Get MSN messenger okay? www.msn.ca or .com I know I like icq better but everyone is on MSN on here and you can chat whenever you want with them then. :0) Paula: Hope you had a good time on the weekend!!! Sounds like you had fun. LisaB: Poor Max! I'm glad he got right back up though. :0) Patty: Good luck responding to that yucky teacher! You would think being a teacher she would want to challenge her child. Go figure. Anyway, I had a great time chatting with you. Oh, your DH is totally hilarious by the way! ha ha. He had me laughing pretty good! Theressa: Happy Birthday to Marcus!!! Rebecca: Good luck to Paige, I hope she gets the part!!! Patty, Darleen, Julianne, Tara, Moriah, and Michelle: Great chatting with you guys over the weekend. I had fun even if you all think I'm a lunatic now. LOL Don't be passing my video around. Anyone who would like to see the naked Swedish rugby players, just let me know. LOL Okay, they aren't naked!!! ha ha. Okay, well that's it for now. I really don't have much to say about Quinn. I spent most of the weekend with my other two while DH watched Quinn, maybe I should have him write this. ha ha. K, talk to you ladies soon! Paris and Quinn email: pariscosby@hotmail.com Monday, May 01, 2000 at 02:24:08 (EDT)) Hi, Paris again. Just one personal and then I'm done! Moriah: You really need to have your computer fixed. You have been logging on here every hour or so. LOL Just had to add that now that you are on my list. You'll have to send me a message first cuz I never know if you are on or if it's your computer having a mind of it's own. ha ha. Talk to you later. That's it for tonight! Paris email: pariscosby@hotmail.com Monday, May 01, 2000 at 04:55:34 (EDT)) Hello Ladies, I hope all had a nice weekend. It rained yesterday all day and it is raining now. I don't mind the rain during the week but not the weekend. I didn't even leave the house yesterday! AJ has been funny lately. He wants to take off his diaper and I don't know why. I keep checking it to see if it is poking him or something but it is not. I don't think he needs a bigger diaper. Patty - I am sure you are a great teacher, now days kids are so lazy they need some challenge! I hope my kids get a teacher like you to give them some thinking power! SO funny about the "Poopy Boat" in the tub. I am still waiting for the day when my son will yell "Mom AJ pooped in the water!"....Lollipop kids..you are too much!! Lee - I think I have the biggest baby when he is sick LOL Alice - My kid is something else, he ran into his brother yesterday and they both hit heads, Jalen had a goose egg on his head...AJ not a thing. I am trying to send pictures of him, so you can see my little monster but my message keeps coming back "underliverable" It is one of the Kodak disc. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Barbarb - It is good to start slow on the bottle weaning. I had to tell my own mother to quit giving him a little snack (bottle) when he really did not need one. Julieanne - Sorry your family is sick. Lisa b - Poor Max. AJ fell one his face one time, and I saw it all in slow motion, if you know what I mean! Theressa - Happy Birthday Marcus. I think you are right about the double post, I believe I was correcting something. LOL Paris - You crack me up. My DH always tells people.."give her another one...maybe I will get lucky!" Of course the only thing that happens is I fall asleep!!! Well I better get the kids ready and get ready to go to work. YUCK. One of this days I will be a SAHM! Moe and AJ Monday, May 01, 2000 at 08:25:30 (EDT)) Hi Mommies and Toddlers....Thank you all for the welcome! I stayed away from all the boards for a while, but I really missed it!!! I guess in 3 days I will officially move over here. Hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful weekend. Just one personal - Julianne (it think)- I only call Nicholas "Nick" when I type it :0) Silly I know, but usually he is called Nicholas or Nichols (DH's nickname for him) I personally prefer Monkey myself (he even does the monkey sound LOL) okay....maybe two LisaB - CONGRATS on the second BOY!!!!! Have you decided on a name yet? Have you told Max???? Thats it for now. I will do much better at keeping up. Hello to everyone!!!! Jenni & Nicholas (1 in 3 days!!!) email: njemtjen@aol.com Monday, May 01, 2000 at 10:26:08 (EDT)) Hello ladies!!! How was everyones weekened? Ours was great. It has been very nice here in San Diego. Yesterday we took Adriana swimming. She had a blast. Other than that, nothing knew is going on here. I heard Blues Clues live is coming to San Diego! We will be taking Adriana. Thats one of her favorites.Well on to my posts: Happy Birthday to Marcus!!! Rebecca: I hope Paige gets the part. Paris: It was great chatting with you too. I have alot of fun when I go into those chats. Well off to do my daily duties around the house! Bye Tara and Adriana Monday, May 01, 2000 at 10:43:08 (EDT)) Good morning ladies....SARAH here. Sarah and Hannah (19 months) email: smoore@geatoir.cfer.com Monday, May 01, 2000 at 10:50:05 (EDT)) Hello from Helen&Amanda!! Theressa-- Happy 2nd Birthday to Marcus!!!! Barbara-- I used to post on Babies today-PT as Sarah and then there were a few others so I figured I would use my real name-- I had never been on the computer posting b/f and I gues I was a 'little' paranoid!! MIL probably wants to make Stephen happy and leave the weaning to you so just gave him a bottle at the first sign of the 'fussies'--- annoying anyway-I know!! Amanda and I were out watering the pansies we planted yesterday- she had a milk jug and I kept filling it- she was having fun- then we saw a lady bug and she was chasing it around and trying to pick it up- finlly it dissappeared- thank God! Well should go-- no I still haven't caught up on the posts but it will be a monster post when I do! Later!! I didn't even try to catch up on a full week's worth of posts! Don't you ladies have anything better to do than chit chat on this board all day? LOL! We had a pretty good week. Went to my mom's house in CT for Easter and had a nice visit. The rest of the week we tried to get some house/yard projects out of the way, relaxed, and I even went out with the girls one night while DH stayed home with Cam. Did I ever pay for it the next day though! Cam is doing great - except for being a bit grouchy while trying to cut a couple of his top molars. Poor kid! Get this one: the Easter Bunny brought a ball for Cameron and he can dribble it like a basketball! Not very well and not for very long, but I'm amazed that he can do it. Maybe I have a little Michael Jordan on my hands here. Other than that he just gets sweeter and bigger every day. He's starting to run around really well now and has learned to climb the stairs (with one of us right behind him of course). I gave him a haircut last week and he looks like a little man now. boo hoo. He is most certainly showing off his little toddler temper though. We've now had the pleasure of a couple full-fledged temper tantrums. I know it's a necessary part of their development, but I get so frustrated when he's acting up. I try to just ignore him and let him work out his problem himself. Any other suggestions? Speaking of being frustrated, I've recently found myself really put out about not having time to do some of the things I used to enjoy before Cam was born; like gardening and cross stitch. I was at the store yesterday buying some pansies to put into the garden and the woman in line in front of me started up a conversation about gardening. I told her that none of my flowers had come back from last year because I hadn't had time to tend to them and she said "Well, that's okay since you were busy growing something much more important." It gave me a whole new outlook for the day. Okay, back to the grind. Yuck! Trying to catch up on a MOUND of paperwork. See ya'll in a little while. Sue and Cameron email: sbarry@key.org Monday, May 01, 2000 at 12:23:35 (EDT)) Hello from Rita It was one of those weekends when the girls really weren't that bad but it was exhausting anyway. By Saturday evening I was all touched out and the poor dog who kept nuzzling me while we were watching the silly Austin Powers sequel didn't get much attention. Yesterday we were up at my mom's house so that I could go through some of the things that I had stored there after my divorce. I ended up offing all of my college and graduate school readers and papers. All that hard work and I can't understand half of what I wrote anymore. I don't know where I am going to put some of the things I brought home. The girls were delighted to get some new stuffed animals. Amy had to find my gross old teddy bear that I was trying to hide. He's so old that I cant wash him and he's sooo dusty. Yuck! I got some new pictures that I will have to scan. I should just update my outdated web site rather than send them out, but we'll have to see. I am off on my first business trip tomorrow and I don't have my laptop yet, so I won't be checking in until I get back on Friday. So nobody can fight, get pregnant or do anything else exciting until I get back! :-) Lisa B - Poor Max! It is amazing how resilient our tots can be. Baby Boy Butler #2? Debbie - Hey there stranger! I'll e-mail you when I get back, so we can talk about next month - Larry can't wait to get away. He's talking about inflatable boats these days - it seems the fishing bug has bitten. I think the two Maddies and Amy & Emilee will have a great time - they sound so much alike! Jenni - Happy Early Birthday to Nicholas! Nicholas has always been one of my favorite boys' names. Charline - Glad that you are back safe and sound. I may be flying with at least one of the girls in November for a family wedding. I am not looking forward to that part. Moe - I never liked the Wizard of Oz - must be those flying monkeys! DH's family comes from Kansas and he wants to make a trip out there to look at the old farm and look up some more family information. Well, I have to prep for a conference call. Take care everyone and talk to you when I get back at the end of the week. Rita & Amy email: ritad@home.com Monday, May 01, 2000 at 12:43:28 (EDT)) Damn ladies, you were BUSY this weekend!!!! LOL I really should post from home over the weekends. We had an OK weekend. Didn't really do much. I had Friday off, and went to that luncheon. Very emotional. I don't know how my uncle and his family do it!!!!! Then went and hung out with my mom on Friday night. Watched the hockey game on Saturday afternoon, and went to my niece's birthday party on Saturday night. And then ABSOLUTELY nothing yesterday. The weather was crappy yesterday. Supposed to be back up in the 70's and 80's this week though. I'm like you PATTY, I can't wait to go home and lay out this afternoon!! :) HANNAH's just doing something new every day!! She amazes me. She has started saying "potty" and then walks to the bathroom and wants to sit on the toilet. Hasn't gone yet, but knows what it's about. We REALLY need to get her a potty chair!!!!! She was such a good girl yesterday morning, and then after her nap turned in to a clingy little girl. ALL she wanted was me to hold her. I don't know what the deal was. Maybe she had a bad dream about me leaving or something...who knows! I just love her sooo much! She's starting to count now, and has added about 10 more words to her vocabulary! I'm so proud of her!!! OK, on to personals: CHRISTINA - That would've been cool if I'd have known her. I haven't had a moment with my husband in about.....uh.....2 months!!!!!! LOL Just kidding. It is hard though. I work during the day, and he works nights. BARBARA - Sorry about your situation with the neighbors!! KATY - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! ROMAINE - Hey there. Good luck with the surgery! THERESSA - OUCH!!! Poor MARCUS! Hope he's okay! ALICE and HANNAH - WELCOME!!! It's so funny, cause I when I named my HANNAH, I hadn't heard of any, and lately there have been alot of HANNAH's on here! :) GREAT TASTE!!! CHARLINE - OMG, you're flight sounds awful!!! Glad you're home! HANNAH was the same way when she first learned to walk. Well, she still is!! ILICIA - WELCOME!! Maybe rock her halfway to sleep, and then try laying her down??? Good luck! ALICE - Glad you heard from your doc. PATTY - Sorry about that obnoxious letter! Thanks for the update on PO5. DEBBIE - HEY!! Good to hear from you!! Glad you all are doing well. LISA - How is MAX's lip?? Poor guy! REBECCA - GOOD LUCK!!! PAIGE, the little movie star. JENNI - WOW, only 3 more days! What do you guys have planned??? SUE - I just walk away, too. It's so hard, cause I don't have a lot of patience when she throws a tantrum. I have to remind myself time, and time again. Well, I think this is long enough. Wow, this board is so busy now. I remember when it was just about the same 6 or 7 people. It's great!! Hope you all have a great day, and GO AVS!!!!!!!!! Sarah again Monday, May 01, 2000 at 12:57:31 (EDT)) Hello, Christina here: Well my weekend was busy, Friday went shopping for the BF's sis's bridal shower - 2 and half hours in Target - oh what fun! Saturday the bridal shower for 4 hours and then to the BF's parents house for pizza and then by the time we got home I was exhausted, supposed to go out, but instead hit the bed and was out! Then Sunday went shopping and to the golf range and then tried to watch Ariaban nights and thought that it started at 8 and it started at 7, then it was contiuned! So that is what I am doing tonight watching the movie. Exhausting weekend, but yesterday here in Illinois it was 74 out and sunny. Well I will try to catch up later. :) Christina & Alyssa Monday, May 01, 2000 at 14:26:25 (EDT)) Hello, Christina here: Well my weekend was busy, Friday went shopping for the BF's sis's bridal shower - 2 and half hours in Target - oh what fun! Lys gave me the biggest scare on Sat. we were at the bridal shower and she was running with the other kids and she fell and hit her head so hard on the hardwood floors, I was so scared. She did not cry not one tear, she was more embarrased and just hugged me and hid her head in my shoulder. Thank god she was ok and no bumps. Everyone stopped when this happened and I did not even know it was her till they picked her up and I saw her blonde hair from the other side of the room. Well I will try to catch up later. :) Christina & Alyssa Monday, May 01, 2000 at 14:30:40 (EDT)) Sorry about the two postings, the first one, I was not done. :-) Christina Monday, May 01, 2000 at 14:32:57 (EDT)) Hi ladies & toddlers, Charline & Hayden here. Hayden has Gymboree tommorrow. He hasn't been in 2 weeks because he had a cold and then we were away. This will be his first class since he has started walking. Theressa-Happy 2 year Birthday to Marcus! Jenni-Good to her from you. Happy early first Birthday to Nicholas! I look forward to hearing about his party. Sue-Glad that you had a good vacation. Cam sounds cute dribbling his ball. Rita-I'd love the see the pics when you get them scanned. Have a good trip. Sarah-It sounds like Hannah is getting ready to start toilet training. How old is she now? That's great that she is counting and building her vocabulary. Christina-I'm glad that Alyssa is ok afer her fall. Hello to eveyone that I have missed. Have a good night everyone. Charline & Hayden(1 year) email: charline@mediaone.net Monday, May 01, 2000 at 16:49:19 (EDT)) Hi from LisaB. The swelling went down in Max's lip over night so he looked much better today. I'm taking off the 12th. Our local "parents as teachers" group is going on a field trip to Purina Farms near St. Louis. I guess it's like a big petting zoo, plus they have little tractors and stuff for the kids to play on. It'll give me a break from work, will give Max and I some bonding time, he'll get to meet some of the kids he'll be going to school with, and I can meet some local Mommies - a win/win situation all the way around!! Can you tell I'm just a LITTLE excited about this??!!!! PATTY: I can just picture Jarin trying to play in the sandbox without getting any sand on his feet - LOL!!! ALICE: I like your MIL advice to Barbara, but if her MIL is like mine it wouldn't make any difference. Mine figures she raised 2 boys and therefore has the right to do whatever she pleases with her grandchildren. My SIL can tell one of her kids "no" in front of MIL ... and then MIL will turn right around, in front of SIL, and let the kids do whatever it was that was just forbidden. That (and the fact that she once let Max's cousins ride in her trunk for the mile between their house and hers - as THEY wanted to) is why I always try to avoid leaving her along with Max. THERESSA: Happy belated birthday to Marcus!! REBECCA: YEAH on Paige getting a casting call for a commercial. JENNI: Actually the name of choice at the moment is Nicholas!!! We've told Max but he really doesn't understand at all. He will, however, either pat my belly or lay his head on it when I mention the baby in my tummy. A 6-week old girl just started at daycare last month so that's helping Max get used to be around a baby. TARA: Adriana is a lucky girl ... swimming and Blues Clues Live!!! HELEN: Amanda sounds adorable, helping you garden! SUE: NOTHING is more important to me than posting during the week - it's the only thing that keeps me sane at work. LOL!!!! YEAH on Cam figuring out how to dribble a ball. All Max can do is throw them and kick them!!! I generally just ignore Max also when he has a temper tantrum. I hear you on the cross stitching; that and several other hobbies of mine have gone by the wayside since I've had Max. I agree with you though - there'll be PLENTY of time for that when my kids are bigger and don't need me as much!!! RITA: I'll look forward to seeing your newest pictures. Best of luck on your business trip!! YEP - BBB#2 (baby boy Butler #2)!!! SARAH: It sounds like Hannah is going to potty train herself soon!!! ROMAINE: I tried to send you the pg announcement and Max's 18 month pictures ... both came back as undeliverable (sent to rrantry@yahoo.com the address you posted). Can you send me an e-mail, and I'll just reply with the photos attached? LisaB & Max (20 mo.) & 20 wk pg email: lisa_lab@hotmail.com Monday, May 01, 2000 at 17:34:54 (EDT)) Hi Mom's and Todd's! It is Darleen, Nolan is watching Barney, and Dh is working late. So I thought I would take advantage of the free time I have for a moment, and post. Is this a MIL bash site now?? LOL! I'm just kidding! I have the sweetest MIL you could ever meet! I am being sarcastic. She sounds very much like your MIL Lisa, only sometimes worse. She disagrees with pretty much everyhting I do with Nolan. If she could I know she would raise him! Not over my dead body!! She keeps telling me "I raised 6 kids, and they all turned out fine." I just shake my head and agree, but that is a matter of opinion. Dh just ignores her, I'm glad he can because I can't. Anyways enough, I am here for 1 reason, and that is Nolan. HELP!! I signed up for an all Women's Gym-excercise. Well tonight was the first night I went for orientation. Orientation was great, but Nolan screamed the whole time, or for most of it as the girls told me. I checked in on him, and at one time he was coloring, and seemed happy, so I went on with my orientation. Well..... by the time I was almost done, he was screaning at the top of his lungs. People kept asking me if that was my child. Of course what am I going to say "no", yes, and I just laughed. When we got there he was happy, and went off and played. I said good-bye and left. But I could see threw the door he was crying. How long should I give him to settle in before I go and intervene?? He hasn't been away from me since last August when we were on Holidays, and other then that it is with a familiar person. And he has not been away from me at all since we moved. If anybody has an advice, I'd love to hear it. I'm going to go again tomorrow, and hopefully he will be okay. I feel so quilty leaving him with strangers!! Sorry no personals tonight, I'm just looking for advice!! Nolan is doing great! Have a great night!! Darleen & Nolan(18mths in9days) email: jndsmith@sprint.ca Monday, May 01, 2000 at 19:54:57 (EDT)) Hi Ladies, Well I really enjoyed my weekend, but it also made me feel sort of old. The barbaque turned into a chat fest, and I didn't leave my friends until almost 3am. That's 2 out of the last 3 nights. I am just wiped. I remember being able to stay up all night and go to work the next day. I just can't bounce back the way I used to. Oh well, it was worth it. Patty-I am jealous of your suntanning, we haven't had a warm sunny day in over 2 weeks. LisaB-Glad to hear Max's playground battle wounds are healing nicely. Theressa-Great that Marcus' isn't afraid of the dog. I have an aunt who is afraid of dogs (though she is getting a little better) and for the longest time it would literally limit the things that she would do. Paige-Good luck with the commercial, my fingers are crossed. Moe-Sorry to hear that they weather isn't cooperating, I know how you feel. Barbara-Any word from you landlord? Venting moment-- I took Caelen to daycare this morning, and they are in the process of trying to move him to the 18m - 3yr section, so he goes up twice a week. One of the women working there started telling me about last Friday's lunch time. She said that she tried to feed him for about 5 min. and he totally ignored her, like he was looking right passed her. So she gave up, and as soon as she diverted her attention to someone else he started eating by himself. (caelen hasn't really let anyone feed him for the last three months). So anyway, she says to me, "that's all right though you've had him tested so I assume he is fine. Maybe it's just mini seizures." For one I haven't had Caelen tested for anything like that, I have never thought that I had a reason to. Secondly, when the @#*# did she become a doctor. I know that she probably said something out of concern, but there must be better ways to approach a subject like that. I am complaining to her supervisor tomorrow morning. I will also ask the dc workers in the infant centre (which is where he has spent all of his time up until last week) if they have noticed anything to cause concern, because I certainly havent. But now that I have worked myself up, I am going to go and do some cleaning. Bye for now, paula and kids Monday, May 01, 2000 at 21:18:08 (EDT)) Hi all, Kahne here, I'm not dead, just in the middle of finals. We are all fine. I was just posting to put down my icq#. The weather is supposed to be not so warm in the next few days so I'm glad we took advantage of it today. Anyway, not too much new with my little peanut, so on to personals. Moe: Quinn is always trying to get her diaper off too! But, she just likes to be a little nature girl. LOL Helen: Quinn just tries to destroy our garden! Drives me nuts. Although, it probably won't grown anyway, I have no idea what I'm doing! :0) Sue: When Quinn is having a temper tantrum, I put my hands over my eyes and pout just like she does when she doesn't want something. It works every time! She stops the tantrum and walks away! Sarah: Go LEAFS! ha ha. LisaB: Have fun on the field trip. Darleen: I'm sure Nolan will get used to going and end up loving it. :0) I just hope you do! LOL Paula: Mini seizures?!!! I would have freaked on the woman right there. So your kid likes to eat his stuff himself. Quinn always did too! I don't blame you for being mad! Anyway, hello to everyone else. I'm off to work on my tball schedule. I've been teaching Alex, Toria, and Lee (my friend's son) and wow they are way better than I thought they would be! Pretty cool. Anyway, bye for now! I want to have Nick's party outside) Thanks!!!! Not too much going on here, just trying to get everything all ready for the big party. DH took off Wed - Fri this week to help me out and he really wanted to be home on Thursday to spend the day with me and Mr. Birthday boy. Some personals.... Tara - I took Nick to see Blues Clues live in NYC at the end of April, he loved it. Danced through the whole thing. Rita - Thanks for the b'day wishes for Nicholas. Enjoy your business trip. Sarah - Thats great that Hannah is showing an interest in the potty. Maybe training won't be that hard with her! We are having a Blues Clues party! Charline - Hey Stranger!!! Thanks! LisaB - I love the name choice :0) We bought Nicholas a Cabbage Patch baby for when I finally get pg (we are kinda/sorta trying - actually trying NOT to prevent it) so he'll have his own baby. He is really cute with it, he kisses, hugs and gives her a bottle! Paris - Tball?? Is that like baseball?? Well, I guess thats it for now. Hi to everyone!! Last night he kept uncovering my legs and saying "hot toes" I'd say.."No cold toes" and cover myself back up. But he kept doing it anyway the little fart! Tara- San Diego..I had my honeymoon there long ago...Loved it. Sue - I would like to start some gardening too. I might have to get AJ a bucket to keep him busy so I can plant my plastic flowers. Just kidding. Sarah - Hurrah for Hannah on her words! Jenni - Happy Birthday to Nicholas Darleen - Sorry can't help you. DH's entire family lives here so I have lots of sitters. Sometimes they stop by and pick up my kids to go play..Nice huh? Have you been scarying anyone lately on your e-mails??LOL Patty - I failed to mention on my last post about laying in the sun...I have a natural tan LOL Kahne - Good luck on your finals Paris - Humm..I will have to try covering my eyes when AJ is throwing a fit. But I will have to leave some space so I can see so that he won't give me a right hook!!! I just want to tell you ladies that I have really enjoy posting. It is fun to see what other kids are doing at the same age. It is neat to meet girls from different parts of the US and Canada. Hi to everyone!!! Moe and AJ ( 20 months) Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 13:12:40 (EDT)) Hello from Helen&Amanda! Well- we are having company this weekend so there is tons to do- I go a little crazy cleaning and tidying whenever someone visits-- I'm even thinking of painting DD's room b/f they get here- who knows. RE: epidurals-- I figured I would give my opinion on this since my 3 were all different-- DS was 2 wks overdue- induced severe contractions, screaming my head off saying I'm going to die- give me a c-section!! He was 9.2lbs- they gave me a couple shots of demerol- did nothing the contractions from being induced were out of control and so strong and fast. DD went natural, labor began the day after my due date, was at home as long as I could stand it and got to the hosp @ 7cm-- too late for meds then!!! But it wasn't bad, nothing but the HUGE needle they give right b/f the episiotomy-- and I lived- did scream a little though.( she was 8.11.5 lbs), Then Amanda, the monster baby at 10.3lbs and 21", was 6 days overdue and also induced but this time at the 1st sign of pain and still able to stay still for an epidural- said, NOW!!! and it was completely heaven- didn't feel a thing!! I can understand that it may cause an increase in the chance of a c-section b/c of not being able to feel a thing including the need to push, contractions etc... even I had a hard time w/pushing but I don't know if it was the medication or her size. But I did notice w/my 1st- I was so exhausted after it,,, and with Amanda I was fine- rested and not feeling drained at all. If I was to have another I would opt for the epidural again, definately, I don't feel less of an acomplished mother giving birth w/medication-- some feel its an accomplishment- I feel the fastest and less pain the quicker you'll recover and both you and the baby benifit from it. ( just my opinion). :O) :O) If I repeat in the personals just ignore it- its been a while and not sure where I left off--- Theressa-- had to laugh at your welcome to Nina--- welcome newcomers and offend the old!!!! Moe-- I am still chuckling to myself about you 'brat' in church- wow what an active little guy!!LOL!! I also took DS's bottle and binky away cold turkey- he also cried for 2-3 days and that was it- he was so attached but looked so silly with them-- felt so bad though! :O( Someone was asking about hair falling out- mine did while I was pg and after had little wispies all along my hairline growing back in- so wierd- a few mos ago mine did get super oily and I HAD to wash it every day, I usually wash it ever other--- now its back to normal. I dropped off another film so there should be a 'normal' pic of me and Amanda- I posed and DD took the pic--LOL!!! Probably will be really scarry- watch! SO I will send out pics to all the end of this week or next- I've actually finished adding all your e-mails to the address book-- I lost them all when the comp crashed. Hayley-- Amanda goes to McDonalds all the time-- the advantage of having older siblings-sarchasm! Jamie-- no your little pep- talk wasn't annoying- much appreciated-thank-you! :O( Moe--Amanda was checking DS's toes the other night- now thats 'EWWWWEEEE'!!!!!!! Theressa- poor Marcus- how is he doing- I wonder how our dog can stand Amanda- she is such a pest- getting on him, hitting him, pulling his weewee, etc.... he is so good so far- hope it keeps up. Alice-C--Welcome!! Paris- we flew out of Boston--- we can fly round trip to Fla for example for as little as$199/person round trip-----Can is expensive anyway- and not having a lot of flights going there makes a diff too. NO-- I think it was Lisab----- DD did not clean up after herself!! Get real!! LOL! She really was sick so that would have been cruel- nice though if she offered! :O) Well-- not caught up yet but I am getting there--- Yesterday I changed Amanda- she took the diaper- then I heard the toilet flush- ran to the bathroom thinking she flushed the whole diaper- she dumped the poop in the toilet and was holding the diaper saying 'eeewwweeee!!' and had a little on her hand and shirt-- cute but yucky! Later!! Helen&Amanda@21mos(DS@14yrsDD@12yrs) email: MHIM27@worldnet.att.net Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 13:41:50 (EDT)) Hi from LisaB. DH was gone last night for work and Max kept asking for Daddy. DH goes to Chicago for an entire week late this month for training - I'm really dreading it, now that Max REALIZES when Daddy is gone and misses him. I cut Max's hair last night, after he fell asleep. The only problem was he would only lay on one side so I got one side and the back done ... and the other side is still long!!! I would try to roll him over but he wouldn't stay. You can't cut his hair when he's awake as he won't sit still long enough. DARLEEN: YEAH for joining a gym. I think Nolan just is so used to having you around that he's going to cry no matter what you do. I would just go to the gym as often as you can and leave him ... until they refuse to take him anymore. LOL!!!! Just reassure him that you'll be back in a few minutes and then leave. If you come and go, it'll probably just upset him more. Best of luck!! PAULA: ONE night of staying up until 3 am would knock me out for a month - LOL!!!! I would report the lady also. Max still wants us to feed him most of the time, but when he wants to feed himself he'll completely ignore us. It sounds to me like your guy is advanced, eating on his own, and the old battle-ax just refuses to see that he's mastered a skill many of the other older kids haven't. JENNI: I had a feeling you would like our name choice - LOL!!!! The cabbage patch doll is a GREAT idea. I was going to get him a regular baby doll but they all look so "girly" - curly hair or pink or something that would cause DH to have a heart attack as soon as he saw his "little man" playing with it!!!! MOE: AJ sounds so funny with his "hot toes"!!! HELEN: I can't wait to see your latest pictures!! YEAH on Amanda flushing the poop from her diaper down the toilet. Sounds like she'll be potty trained soon!! Do you all remember Jennifer, Adam's mom? She's posting at PT. She's 10 weeks along (after having 2 miscarriages after having Adam). She's having a lot of morning sickness but is otherwise ok. She's quit posting here due to a lack of time but plans to start posting again after the baby is born. I have training all day tomorrow so I'll check back in on Thursday! LisaB & Max (20 mo) & 20 wk pg email: lisa_lab@hotmail.com Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 14:34:18 (EDT)) Hi Ladies, Barbara here...sorry, no time for personals because I have to leave in about 5 minutes to get my eyebrows waxed (otherwise, I start to look like Bert from Seasame Street LOL). Anyways, Stephen is going back to the Dr. tomorrow because I noticed something around his anal opening and I want to know if any of you have seen this with your kids. He has had a redness around his anus that goes out about an inch all around. It is just constantly red...has been for about 3 weeks. He never has diaper rashes (unless he has diarrhea) so I started to worry. I called the Dr. and they are going to do a swab on it tomorrow. She said it sounded like a bacterial virus or fungus or something like that...does anyone have any info on this? Barbara and Stephen Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 15:12:18 (EDT)) I forgot to tell you all the most important news..No, I am not PG. AJ gave me a big hug last night and said "I too" that's his "I LOVE YOU". I just melted. See, he does love me even though he punches me and feeds me boogies!!LOL One more thing HELEN - OMG you had a 10 pounder!!! I thought AJ was big. 9 1oz, coming from me anyway, I am a small framed woman. AJ broke his collar bone when I delivered him. What was sad is that they did not catch it until he went for his 2 wk check-up. They asked me if I noticed the bump on his collar bone. No! They took X-Rays and discovered it had been broke and was now healing!! Can you imagine! No wonder he cried everytime I nursed him on one side. DH was pissed!! Well got to go!! Moe Again Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 16:36:48 (EDT)) Hi ladies, Charline & Hayden here. Hayden went to Gymboree today and had so much fun. He was so excited to be able to walk that he would start to run and then fall down. He would then get right back up again and start running. When he saw his friend, Noah he waved and walked over to him. It was so cute:) LisaB-Glad to hear that the swelling went down on Max's lip. The field trip on the 12th sounds like a lot of fun. Too funny aobut you having to cut Max's hair while he sleeps. Darleen-I hope that Nolan will be better for you at the gym today. Sorry that I don't have any helpful advice. Paula-I can't believe that that DC person said that to you about the mini seizures. It sounds like Caelen was just ignoring her because he wanted to feed himself. Kahne-Good luck on your finals. Jenni-I hope that you all have fun at Nicholas's party on Sunday. According to the www.weather.com it is suppose to be sunny and in the 80's on Sunday up here in Mass and I in south Jersey too. So, you will probably have beautiful weather in your part of NJ. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you anyway. Moe-Too Cute with AJ saying hot toes! Oh, that is so sweet that AJ said "I too" to you last night:) I hope that everyone has a nice night. Charline & Hayden (1 year) email: charline@mediaone.net Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 17:07:28 (EDT)) hello Mommies: I think that since I have not really had any feed back on this site, I might say good-bye. It seems I do not quite fit in here, but I am not sure why. Thank you for the advice and lending an ear. :) Christina & Alyssa (2) Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 17:47:28 (EDT)) Hello everyone, Jamie here. I made the mistake today of potting a plant in front of Gabe, using his plastic gardening tools. Now I have to stop him from 'helping' me dig in the dirt! He helped me so much while I was making dinner that I ended up with my new plants on their sides, and a pile of dirt in the living room. Its the thought that counts, I guess. His teething symptoms seem to have gone away, but no teeth! As a matter of fact, he slept until nine fifteen this morning...he goes to bed between seven thirty and eight, so that was about 13 hours....wow. Of course, he did get in bed with us at seven forty-five to nurse, but fell right back to sleep. With my Dh getting up with him every morning, and now this, I am getting spoiled! LisaB - glad to hear Max's face is better..Gabe climbs up slides, also! Theressa - Happy birthday Marcus! Rebecca - good luck to Paige Sue - welcome back Rita - hope your trip goes well Jenni - happy birthday to Nicholas! Paula - I cant BELIEVE that lady said that to you! I would have had a 'mini-seizure' if someone said that to me. Its also nice to know that she thought a child was having a seizure, and didnt DO anything. Obviously, your son was very clearly stating his preference to feed himself, and I dont blame him! Kahne - good luck on your finals..I am done next tuesday, and my husband is done next thursday. Talk about stress! Barbara - Has Stephen been eating spinach? Their are a variety of foods that can cause a target-like rash around the anus, which is what that sounds like. I wouldnt worry about it, I hear it is quite common and harmless. Christina - I felt the same way when I first started posting here. Sometimes still do! I think that there are so many poeple here that it takes a while for people to start remembering the new names.I would give it some more time! talk to ya'll later, Jamie and Gabe (14 months) email: zeppelin2@msn.com Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 21:51:37 (EDT)) Real quick, Christina, I agree with Jamie, It takes some time so don't leave!! Moe Tuesday, May 02, 2000 at 23:08:11 (EDT)) Well, Marcus got his stitches out yesterday morning. He was such a trooper. We stopped by the ER, and we were done in less then 10 minutes. He stayed perfectly still while they took them out, and he looks great. The nurse gave him a sucker for being so good. My sister called this morning and asked if I wanted to start voulenteering at the library doing storytime for toddlers. If I do, I get a free library card and no fines. And this library has a really good children's dept. (That is where sis works) So I am going to do it for the first time Thursday. REBECCA - Good luck on the Huggies thing. Hope Paige gets the part. JENNI - Welcome - Happy (early) B day for Nicholas TARA - Wish Blues Clues would come here. My kids want to see it soooo bad. They love Blue. SUE - Lets get Marcus and Cam together. Marcus loves Basketball. He has been dribbling a full size basketball since he could walk. ( I swear the first time he walked was to go get a ball.) He is watching the playoff games with DH, and he won't move. OK - and I love the "growing something more important." Gives us all great perspective. LISA B - Have fun in St Louis! Sounds like an exciting trip. KAHNE - Good luck on finals. MOE - someone mentioned a few weeks back to try putting the diaper on backwards. I tried it and it works like a charm. CHRISTINA - That is so scary when they hit their heads. Yesterday Josh was playing in the water, and slipped and fell on the cement. He hit his head, and I was worried about a concusion. But he was fine. Hope the same goes for Lys. MOE and HELEN - would love to hear more about your labors. Sounds like you both have quite some stories! Theressa email: labor_story@yahoo.com Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 01:30:01 (EDT)) Hi Everyone, I'm trying to post during Judging Amy commercials, so I apologize if I miss anyone. Spoke to d/c supervisor today, and she seemed very angry at the other lady. Unfortunately she wasn't working today, so she said she would talk to her about it tomorrow. She also told me not to worry about Caelen's health, as she (who has spent the last 4 months with him), has never witnessed anything unusual, and agreed with you all, that Caelen just wanted her to leave him alone. I don't think that I am ready for my BABY to move up to the toddler section. Christina-I don't think that you should give up on us so quickly. I think that one of the reasons that you feel like your not fitting in is because that generally when you post, you direct them to one person in particular, and a lot of us (not meaning to talk for other people), will skip over posts that are specific people. I know myself, I read everyones individual posts (ie questions and comments) and just sort of skim posts directed to others. I know I was not trying to leave you out, and would love to get to know you and Alyssa better. LisaB-I know what you mean about crying for daddy. I am so happy for DH when he walks through the door. You can see the pride, as Caelen call "Daddy, Daddy!!!". If you figure out how to give Max the perfect haircut, let me know. My DS is walking around with the most uneven haircut, thanks to Mommy's ill attempts. I've never tried it while he is sleeping, I might have a stab at it (no pun intended), afterall it can't get any worse.LOL!!! Jamie-Gabe sounds like a better gardener than me. Your right it is the thought that counts. I can't even give my garden a second glance. I think the fact that we are moving just makes me less motivated. Moriah-How's are you Alex and DH doing. What ever happened to Birdie?? She posted on this board last year didn't she. Her posts could always make me laugh. Chat Later, Paula and Kids Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 02:02:26 (EDT)) Christina-I feel really bad now, I just went back over the posts and realized that you have been making general, out to everyone posts, and I have been a little lazy lately and not been reading the posts as thoroughly as I should. I know how you feel about the scare when Alyssa fell. Caelen and Kyla were messing around on the couch this morning and Caelen fell off. It makes your heart stop. I am glad to hear that she was ok, and what a trooper, not even a tear. I hope you stick around. Bye for now, Paula again Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 02:20:58 (EDT)) Hello Mommies! Paris here. I read the posts but didn't take notes and I'm so tired I can't remember the ones I tried to remember. LOL Well, I volunteered again tonight! It was great. I love doing this! The only down side is (and it may be a biggie) is that I want a job there! This wouldn't necessarily seem like a problem, HOWEVER! Hey, it's me we are talking about here. LOL Anyway, the boss who's name is Bonnie from Carmangay (Paris puts it all together tonight) is the woman I told off on Friday night at the bar. LOL She was such a B-I-T-C-H! I just told her she had p*****d everyone off and to go home! Geez! Didn't think she would ever end up being the person I wanted to work for. Me and my big mouth again!!! Oh well, open mouth, hello foot! Story of my life. Anyway, I can only hope the woman was too hammered to remember me and that she will just love me when I go to see about a job! LOL I can't say enough about how much I love it there! Tonight was awesome! It's full of funny stories and just way too hilarious episodes. I swear I could go on forever about that place. Anyway, I don't really have any personals. I did when I was reading them but I've decided I have become to lazy to write them down tonight. :0) So, I hope everyone is well and that everyone's toddlers are sleeping and not harrassing their mommies. Although I've heard we should enjoy these sleepless years because we will have them again when they are teenagers and then we won't know where they are! Let's enjoy them now!!! :0) Happy sleeps to everyone! I'm off to bed myself. Christina: Keep posting with us! We are a fun bunch of gals. Gone through a rough patch lately but you'll fit in just fine! You have a toddler right? See! You're one of us! We all have those too! LOL Yes, I'm the rowdy, funtime, partygirl of the bunch. Don't know how else to say it girls. Okay, WILD! LOL Feel free to keep posting with us Christina! If anyone doesn't fit in, I'm sure it's me! LOL LOL LOL Okay, hi to everyone else. Have a great whatever day it is tomorrow! I'm kidding!!! I know it's Wednesday! Play safe! Bye for now. Paris and Quinn email: pariscosby@hotmail.com Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 04:45:31 (EDT)) Good morning ladies...SARAH here. Hope you're all doing well. We are. HANNAH's been so full of lovin' lately. Just comes up and kisses me, or hugs me for no reason. I LOVE IT!!! :) The other night I was sitting there reading her books, and I would say a word and she would repeat everything I said. It was too cute. She's learning sooo much. There are 3 and only 3 things she wants to do lately when she's up...take a bath ("with bubbos"), play outside, or read books....and that's it!!! Kind of funny. She's going to be 20 months tomorrow. I can't believe that she's closer to being 2 than turning 1 (does that make sense??) Seems like we just had her 1st birthday party. She's growing up so fast. Every time I look at her, I just fall in love with her all over again! I'm hopefully going to get together with RITA tomorrow. She's in town. We haven't touched base yet, though. :( CHRISTINA - Don't leave. I agree with the others...soooo many new people have joined, and we're all just getting used to each other. I'm glad ALYSSA was okay after her fall! CHARLINE - Like I said above, HANNAH's going to be 20 months tomorrow. She definitely knows the concept of going potty. LISA - I'm glad MAX's lip is better. How funny you cutting his hair while he was sleeping! :) Purina Farms sounds like fun!!! JENNI - Tomorrow is THE BIG DAY!!! Your Blues Clues Party sounds like fun. The weather is supposed to be in the 80's the next couple of days, so I'll send some of it your way for the weekend!!!! DARLEEN - Congrats on joining a gym...good for you!! I agree with what LISA said. BARBARA - I hope everything is okay with STEPHEN. MOE and HELEN - OMG, I thought a 5 lb. 12 oz. baby was hard!! LOL LOL What a wimp I am!!! THERESSA - That sounds like so much fun reading at the library! PATTY - HI!! MORIAH - Hope everything is okay. I agree with (I think it was PAULA) WHERE IS BIRDIE???? OK, that's it for now. Talk to you ladies soon. Hey, is there a chat today??? Sarah and Hannah (19 months) email: smoore@geatoir.cfer.com Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 09:23:27 (EDT)) Hi! It's Martha. I have not posted in a while. We have been so busy lately. Today is day 5 and hopefully the last day of "construction" on the house. We are getting some new floor coverings and it has been a long process. We also had my sister's family visiting us over Easter, and we are leaving in a couple days to go to Arizona for a week. Then we will be home a week before we leave again for the beach. May is going to be fun and busy. LisaB - so glad that Max handled the fall so well. It's encouraging that he began playing again so quickly. Wow, your pregnancy is half over. Time sure flies. Theressa - hope you enjoy your work at the library. Jamie - maybe Gabe will be interested in pulling weeds! I'd start training him soon! Paula - Caelen was just being polite by ignoring that woman who was trying to feed him at daycare! Mini seizures! Some people will say anything. Moe - I also had a big baby 9lbs 7 oz. I had a C-Sect though which was fortunate since we didn't know how big she was. Poor AJ and his collar bone. Barbara - Sorry to hear about your terrible neighbors. So glad to hear that you will be moving soon. Hope Stephen's rash turns out to be a minor thing. Maybe he is allergic to a food or something. Jenni - hope Nicholas enjoys his birthday party. Happy birthday to him. I get so sad each month thinking how fast Mary Beth is growing. Christina - it is difficult to respond to every post because there are so many people so I only respond to the ones that I can think of something to say. I don't intentionally leave people out just for the heck of it. So Alyssa likes french fries. I have been delaying the introduction of the french fry experience for as long as possible. I know she'll love them b/c I have never known a kid who didn't. I love them too. Rita - doesn't it feel good to get rid of stuff? I seldom do it, but I feel so happy to get a closet cleaned out and organized. Maybe you could put those dusty stuffed animals in the dryer with no heat to get some of the dust off. Kahne - good luck with the exams! Will you take the summer off from school? Charline - Yeah for Hayden! He sounds like a sweetie. Take care, everyone! Martha & Mary Beth (13 months) email: eaufuldi@cub.kcnet.org Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 09:33:36 (EDT)) Good Morning, Just a quick post before the kids wake up. I think my calendar must be wrong, it says that it is May, but when I look out the window it looks more like November. RAIN again. Martha-A week in Arizona and the beach? You lucky girl. Sarah-Your comments about your little girl are so sweet. It is hard to believe that 2nd birthdays are just around the corner. Paris-Glad to hear that you are enjoying your volunteer work, and I hope you can get a job there. I long for the day that I get a job where I actually look forward to going to work. Just tell the "boss" that you have a twin sister if she says that you look familiar.LOL!!!! Barbara-How is Stephen's rash?? All for now, Paula and Kids Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 09:58:57 (EDT)) Hello to all the mommies, Christina here. I thank all for the advise on posting and I will stick around and be patient. Well let me start out by telling alittle bit about myself. I am 28, work full-time and am divorced for almost 2yrs. now. I live with my BF who is 26 and also works full-time. We just moved in together about 4 months ago. Alyssa is 2 and she is my second child, my son Jonathan passed away 5 years ago and would be 6 on the 22nd of this month. He was born 3 months premature at 2lbs., 1oz., 141/2 in., I had a weak cervix and went into labor for a week and a half they tried to hold it off with every drug they had and well nothing worked. He was in neonatal nursery for 3 months exact to the date he was supposed to come, which was weird, but nice. anyway, he got sick about a month after we brought him home with CMV which he got through my pregnancy when I was sick before I went into labor. I am sad he is not here with me, but he is in heaven and if he would have made it he would have been sick and that is not what I would have wanted for him. So with the help of counseling and strong family support I am ok now. Is there any moms out there that have experienced anything like this - having a baby in neonatal? It is so hard to see your baby hooked up to all those wires and all. Personals: Theressa: I was so scared when she hit her head! Is yours ok? Hope so! LisaB: Have fun on your trip to St.Louis, sounds like a blast! If Sesame Street live comes your way, take the little tikes to see it, I took Lys about a month ago and she loved it! I have never seen her scream and clap like she did that day. Well its back to work and well I want out of here - its 75 out and sunny and oh I cannot wait till lunch!!!! talk to you ladies later! :-) Christina & Alyssa ( 2yrs.) Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 10:08:39 (EDT)) Hi all Jenni and Nicholas here! Just kind of did my weepy goodbyes on BT. My monkey will be a toddler in 14 hours. DH had an idea to fill his room with balloons tomorrow morning before he wakes up and suprise him. I guess he is just a sappy as me :0) Moe - Thanks for Nicholas' b'day wishes/ Helene - Amanda sounds soo cute flushing her own poop! LisaB - Nick's baby is a girl (Paula) DH calmed down as soon as he saw Nick feed her the bottle. Charline - Thanks! I've been checking the weather to, it's suppose to be great! Jamie - Thanks for the b'day wishes for Nicholas Theressa - Thanks! Good luck tomorrow at the library Sarah - Thanks! Happy 20 months to Hannah! Martha - Thanks!!! Oh and welcome back :0) I guess thats it for now. Hi to anyone I missed!!! Jenni & Nicholas (14 hours left of babyhood) email: njemtjen@aol.com Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 10:48:35 (EDT)) Hey ladies. It’s been beautiful here in Kentucky this week. Perfect whether for all the pre-Derby festivities that are going on. Yes, The Kentucky Derby is this Sat. for those of you who don’t already know it. There are usually things going on everyday in the week leading up to it. Today is the great steamboat race. Louisville’s steamboat, The Belle, races the Delta Queen down the Ohio River every year. Not a very exciting race, but a fun tradition non the less. DH and I may go to Derby this year if the weather remains nice. We’ll be in the infield with all the Yahoo’s that like to drink and party (grandstand seats are IMPOSSIBLE to get). Paris, I think you would fit right in down here! LOL!! Allison will be staying with my mom. How do you ladies get your little ones to say, “I love you!” Allison won’t say that for ANYTHING! DH and I have tried and tried and she just looks at us. She talks a blue streak about everything else, but refuses to say that simple phrase. I think she’s doing it just to be honery, personally! She’s a lot like her daddy that way! In case you ladies weren’t aware, Baskin Robbins ice cream is having free scoop night tonight from 5-10 pm. It’s a national promotion and everybody that comes in gets a free scoop of your choice. Might be a fun activity for the little ones! Jenni – happy birthday to Nicholas a little early. It will be great to have you as an “official” member of our board. Christina – so sorry to hear about Jonathan. I’m sure he’s much happier now as he is not suffering and with God. You sound like a very strong lady. Paula – hope you get some nice weather soon. I will send some of our good weather your way! That DC lady sounds nuts. I wouldn’t worry about it. Martha – sounds like you have lots of fun stuff planned? Can I hitchhike along in your luggage? LOL Sarah – Don’t you just love those sweet times when they are being all loving. Allison was like that last night. I love to snuggle with her. Keeps her a baby a little longer. Paris – you need to come to KY and go to the infield of the Derby, you would have a blast as much as you like to party. Therresa – I hope Marcus didn’t scar too bad from the stitches. Jamie – Wow, 13 hours of sleep. That would be wonderful! Charline – Hayden sounds cute at Gymboree. Moe – I’m so jealous that AJ said “I love you” to you. Read above, I can’t get Allison to say it for anything! Barbara – hope Stephen is okay. Allison will get a rash like that if she eats anything acidic (orange juice, tomato products, etc). The Clinique products are made with witch hazel , SD alcohol and salicylic acid as the main ingredients. I never asked the Dr., but did find on the internet where witch hazel is safe to use externally during pregnancy. I love them as they are non-drying and they deflake your skin as well so you don’t have big nasty dry flakes over top of your pimples as they clear up. That’s always been a problem with me in the past. Lisa – I know what you mean about it being hard when they realize their daddy’s are gone. My DH is gone at least 1 night out of the week everynight. Last night at dinner Allison cried and cried saying “DADDY, I WANT MY DADDY, MY DADDY!” Etc. We called him and she gave him a kiss and hugged the receiver of the phone when she told him bye. Then she was okay. It’s very hard as he is the first person she asks for every morning and every afternoon when I pick her up from the sitter’s and if he’s not around she gets pretty upset. Believe me it doesn’t get any easier. Helen – I’ll be right over to shoot those turkeys! I got another one this weekend. It’s a very exciting sport. I think I’m addicted! Too cute about Amanda flushing her poopy. At least she knows where it’s supposed to go! Patty – I can’t believe that woman and her letter. Looks like she could have gone about it in a better way as she is a teacher too. I don’t think addition is overboard for kindergarten. As you said, we are always accused of “dumbing down” our society. I think our kids need to be pushed sometimes. Well, It’s time for me to go to lunch. I’ll talk to you ladies later. Have a great day. Beth and Allison (23 months) email: bobwite@msn.com Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 12:41:15 (EDT)) HI Ladies...Barbara here. Good news on Stephen, nothing major, it is just an irritation. The Dr. prescribed a cream (lotrison..i think) and wants me to wipe him with water instead of baby wipes for a while. She said it is a very sensitive area and it can be easily aggrivated. So, thank you for all of your kind words. I am so glad it was nothing serious. I got my eyebrows waxed yesterday and I feel like I look 10 times better. Does anyone here have their brows waxed at a salon? I have a question...do you think it is sanitary? I started to wonder about that as my hairstylist was plucking a few hairs that the wax didn't get.....I was wondering if it was sanitary to use the same tweezers on everyone...I mean, if it wasn't, Im sure we would have heard something by now, right? I am being a worry wart now. MARTHA-I am so envious of your Arizona vacation....have a great time!! JAMIE-I stopped smoking about 6 months before I got pregnant. I do smoke when I go out or have a glass of wine...I have done this since I had Stephen. I don't think I will go back to smoking full time though because Ive gone 18 months with only smoking when I drink (which is about once a month). If you tried a cigarrette now, I am sure you would hate it. LISA B-It is so funny that you remember my MIL from hell!! She STILL wears that bright coral colored lipstick too!! LOL CHARLINE-Where does Hayden do his Gymboree (Burlington?). I take STephen to the Melrose one on friday mornings. ALICE- I want so badly to tell my MIL off sometimes...I am always having to bite my tongue. THERESSA-Happy Belated Birthday to Marcus!! REBECCA-Hurray on Paige's Huggies casting. PAULA- no word from the landlord yet. I am beginning to wonder if he was just pacifying me with his words...telling me that they were going to be evicted. He hasn't even called me since I left him the message on friday voicing my concerns. well, I am going to make some lunch now. I will talk to you all later. Barbara and Stephen Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 12:46:14 (EDT)) Hey ladies..SARAH again. I just wanted to let you all know I just talked to RITA. She's in town. It's so weird to actually hear her voice...way too cool!! Darleen here! I'm 30, as of March 22nd, Dh is 31, 32 September 29th, and Nolan is 18mths on the 9th of May. He will be 2 November 9th. He is our 1 and only right now, but in a months time or so, we might be expecting #2 if all goes well! We will be married 6 years August 20th. Thank you very much everybody for your advice. I took the best advice from a friend of mine, and called the gym, and complained about the staff. If Nolan's not happy, then I'm not happy, and they would be losing an unhappy customer. She agreed with me, and said she would talk to her staff. I said thank you very much, I would appreciate that! Nolan is doing fine, but screaming at me over the monitor right now! If I only knew what he was saying. I refuse to get him until he is happy! Poor baby :(!! Personals: Christina- Don't leave! It is alot of fun on here once you get to know people. Get www.MSN.com, and you will get to know Paris and I better! Right Paris? Sorry it is soo short, but I better go and get Nolan before he pukes. Sorry, have a great day! Enjoy the weather, we are!! I am counting the last 10 minutes of work and then off I go to go home and get ready to go out tonight for Ladies night at Boogy Nights. It's a 70's, 80's bar and god is it fun. Darleen: Thank you! :) Well goodnight everyone and talk to ya tomorrow! Christina & Alyssa (2yr.) Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 18:11:08 (EDT)) Hi mommies. For some reason, I haven't been able to get on here for the past 3 days, so I know I'll just have to skim all of the posts. I responded to my bitchy letter and so far haven't gotten another. I ok'd my response with my principal and gave him a copy to file. Jarin is doing wonderfully. He is so much fun and I just adore him. He cried this morning when I left for work. DH was home today, but still. =( I sat in the car in the garage and I could hear him screaming, so I went back inside and rocked and nursed him. Then I tried to leave again and he cried again. =( I had to take the cell phone and call Tom. He was still crying, but after I talked to him on the phone and told him to make daddy take him outside, I guess he got better. **LisaB: Poor abused Max. I hope he is doing better now. I can't believe you're already 20 weeks pregnant. You're halfway there already!! Yay for you going on the field trip. I'm sure Max will have so much fun! Thanks for the update on Jennifer and Adam. I've been wondering if she was still pregnant and how things were going. **Charline: I am sure Hayden is a little angel walking everywhere. So fun to watch them when they're first starting to get around. I also wonder what kind of a teacher this "lady" must be. I don't think I'd want my child in her class! **Theressa: Thanks for your positive comments too. Sure, your kids can come anytime. It might be kind of a long commute for them though. =) Happy belated birthday to Marcus. I would've wished him one sooner if I would've been able to get on here!!! Good luck with story time at the library. Sounds like fun. Yay for Marcus being such a trooper about getting his stitches out. **Rebecca: Too cool that Paige went for a casting call for Huggies! You'll have to let us know if she gets to be in one of the commercials. =) **Paris: LOL at my DH being hilarious. He thinks he is. =) He even logged on to MSN last night and I said, What are you doing - trying to get to talk to Paris again? LOL. Sounds like you are having lots of fun with all of this baseball stuff. DH and Jesse are getting ready to go to practice. DH and one of his troopers coach a coach's pitch team. I'm glad you are enjoying volunteering so much. Uh-oh on the yelling at the woman who does the hiring!! **Moe: Glad you liked my rendition of "lollipop kids". LOL. I wonder what AJ is thinking about his diaper? Jarin loves to be naked though, so I suppose I am the wrong person to ask! My DH always says that about "give her another one" too and I, too, always end up asleep. heehee. What a riot with the "hot toes". LOL at your natural tan - I'd love to have some, do you want to share? Ahhhh, on the "I too". So sweet. Poor DH and his nose! I am 33, Jarin is 20 months, real name is Patty, 2 other kids Jesse - 8, Jaime -16 and we live in Indiana. **Jenni: Official Welcome to you!!! **Helen: Too cute with Amanda chasing the ladybug. =) Sounds like she is figuring out where that poopy is supposed to go now. LOL **Sue: Wondered where you have been! That's great that Cam is already dribbling a ball. Perhaps you have a budding basketball star on your hands. =) I LOVED that comment about you being busy growing something much more important. What a neat way to make us realize all we have. =) =) =) =) =) **Rita: I found an old college paper of mine not too long ago and I was like "What in the world was I talking about?" LOL. All of my books and papers also hit the trash. **Sarah: Sounds like Hannah is doing wonderfully, as usual. So, did you get to lay out? Don't miss the PO5 finale tonight! Hope you and Rita were able to get together. Jarin also askes for "bubbos" now every time he gets in the tub. So cute!! Happy 20 month Birthday to Hannah! I felt exactly the same on Jarin's 20th month. =( **Darleen: I hope Nolan does better tonight when you go to your Gym. He is still in that separation anxiety phase, but he should (supposedly!) be getting better since it's supposed to end around 18 months! **Paula: I hope you are having some nicer weather. It is so gorgeous here again today. =) That is awful what that dc worker said to you. I'm sure if there was something wrong, you'd have noticed. He was probably just looking at something else going on behind her. **Kahne: Good luck with the rest of your finals. **Barbara: Good luck with Stephen at the doctor. I hope it is nothing. I was LOL at you looking like Bert on Sesame Street. I get my eyebrows waxed once in a while - I never thought about it before, so I dont' know about how sanitary it is. I figure they probably soak the tweezers in that same antiseptic cleanser they use for combs?? **Christina: I'm so glad Alyssa was ok after hitting her head on the hard wood floor. I'm sure it scared both of you. Sounds like you had a busy weekend. Moriah knows all about NICU - she'd be a good one to talk to for advice. Her little Alex is doing wonderfully now, but had an incredibly hard start, right Moriah? I remember taking Jesse to Sesame Street Live. He loved it too. **Jamie: 13 hours? I am so, unbelievably jealous! **Beth: Jarin won't say "I love you" for anything either. =( Baskin Robbins? MMMMMM OMG I love Baskin Robbins ice cream. Unfortunately the nearest one is 45 minutes away. I love Peanut Butter & Chocolate! Thanks for the comments on my letter. =) I figured that would really make you miss teaching, huh? LOL This board is still not working right for me. I can only get it to load until the end of April, can't get it to go to the end so I can post. I hope they archive soon. It takes almost an hour for me to load it. Makes me mad. My sweet Jarin and I just took a walk while I waited for the board to finish loading - I got back and it still wasn't done!!! He is too sweet in his shades, holding Tigger in the stroller. =) Love him! Patty and Jarin - 20 months email: tematheny@ctlnet.com Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 18:39:01 (EDT)) Hi ladies, Charline & Hayden here. Hayden was so excited this a.m. running up and down the hallway and kitchen with his rattle that he had since he was born. He was screaming and laughing at the top of his lungs. It was so funny. Then after his nap in the afternoon, he was not in a good mood and was very clingy and whining constantly. I guess he woke up on the wrong side of the crib.(LOL!) My stats: I'm 31, Dh is 30 and Hayden just turned 1 on April 9th. He is our first. I'm a SAHM and DH is a computer consultant. We live in Billerica, MA Jamie-That's great that Gabe slept so well for you last night. Too funny about him helping you dig the dirt! Theressa-Marcus sounds so brave getting his stitches out. Paula-Glad to hear that the supervisor agreed with you about the DC person. I'm sure that she will think before she says such a ridiculous comment again. Paula & Sarah-I was just wondering the same thing-Where is Birdie? Sarah-Hannah sounds so cute giving you hugs and kisses all of the time and wanting a bath with "bubbos". That's a shame that you couldn't meet Rita. Maybe next time? Martha-Glad to see you hear. How is Mary Beth doing? Have a great time on your trip to Arizona. Christina-I'm glad to hear that you are going to stick around. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your first child, Jonathan. That must have been so hard. He must be so happy watching you and Lys from heaven. Seseme Street live sounds like a lot of fun. Lys sounds so cute screaming and clapping. Jenni-Have a great Birthday Nicholas and a great party on Sunday! Beth-Thanks for the info. on Baskin Robbins. We might just have to make a trip tonight after dinner:) Have fun at the derby. Barbara-Glad to hear that Steven just has an irritation. I hope that it clears up fast. Yes, Hayden does go to Gymboree in Burlington. I didn't know that there was one in Melrose. Moe-Gymboree is a place for mommies/daddies and babies up to four years old to interact, sing songs, and play on play structures. They also have a parachute and blow bubbles and every class. Patty-Jarin sounds so cute with his shades on holding his Tigger:) It sounds like he really wanted to be with you today. Hello to everyone that I have missed. Have a good night. Charline & Hayden(1 year) email: charline@mediaone.net Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 21:15:43 (EDT)) Hello everyone, Jamie here. Something very weird has happened. You remember how Gabe has been acting like he is teething for the past few days? Well, guess who got a tooth....ME!!!!!!! Three of them , to be exact. I am very distressed about this. I dont have a dentist here, and am not willing to go to Houston with Gabe just to get them pulled (my wisdom teeth). I guess I am going to have to go to a stranger, which terrifies me because I have never had anything done to my teeth exept braces and having them cleaned. I have never even had a cavity, and I hate anethesia (sp). I am really pissed off about this, especially if these teeth make my front teeth crooked again after going through the hell of having braces. I have a BIG smile,, and crooked front teeth would be no bueno for me. Today has just been a bad day. It was my day to clean, and then I was going to meet my husband for lunch, after which he was going to go study for finals and then pick up Gabe from his mothers. Well, she called at 2:30 (right after he gets out of class, and right before we were going to go meet for a nice, quite, toddler-free luch) and said she was tired, and he needed to come pick Gabe up. Ahhh! His parents moved here so they could supposedly take care of Gabe when we needed it, and she wont watch him for 5 hours (one or two of which is a nap) Not only will they not take the initiative to make their house Gabe-proof, but she wont even clean up a room (one of 6 for only two people) for Gabe, so it will be easier to take care of him over there. I am so tired of them! If they didnt want to take care of him, they should not have said that that was the reason they were moving here. We got along so much better long-distance. I cant wait until we move back to Houston, where I will have a much bigger support-group. Besides all of that, what about her son studying for his finals? Ahhhhh! O.K., I feel better now, thanks for letting me vent. Martha - Gabe does love pulling up weeds...leaving 'weeds' open for a braod definition! I have been trying (in vain) to tuen him into my own little human edger, and tell him that it is O.K. to pull up the long grass on the edges of his yard...so far, it hasnt been working. Barbara - I have my bikini line waxed at a salon, and trust me, they certainly sterilize that stuff! I keep telling myself that I will just smoke when I am out, but I know that I am such a natural SMOKER that it wont last. I have a friend who only smokes whe she is out and on vacations...I am so envious! Christina - You have such a positive spirit about oyur little boy, I am glad you feel so strong now. Moe - My husband has HUGE nostrils, also, and he always jokes about coke-heads getting paranoid around him. Sorry for the long post, but it has been a long day. Jamie and Gabe (14 months) email: zeppelin2@msn.com Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 21:58:50 (EDT)) WE'RE BACK!!!!!!!!!! Hi Everyone from Alice & Nathan, We have been away for 4 days now, wow talk about withdrawal LOL. I have had this terrible cold and have been going to bed early, so no posting for me this week. Nathan is doing great, nothing new and exciting to report except his birthday is coming up on May 30, he will be three, does that mean I have to go (boo, hoo) Any suggestions on a birthday ideas would be greatly appretiated. Oh yeah, I know I promised new pics of Nathan but I have not been to develop them yet, definitely this weekend. On to personals: THERESSA - HAPPY BELATED TO MARCUS!!!! REBECCA - Good luck to paige on the commercial. MOE - Ask Paris with any problems on the pc, she seems to know everything. SUE - I totally agree with you on the tantrums, just let them work it out and eventually the tantrum will stop, I'm with you on the getting frustrated. RITA - We'll try to behave while you are gone. LOL Have a safe trip. SARAH - You really need to get Hannah a potty, don't want her little butt falling in the toilet do you? LOL CHARLINE - What exactly is Gymboree, is it similar to gymnastics, cause we have one close to our house and we were going to have Nathan's birthday party there. LISAB - Glad Max is doing better, your upcoming "feild trip" sounds like fun, have a great time. A little more on the MIL thing my DH mom, who we don't consider a part of the family so she is technically not a MIL, beat the crap out of my husband when he was a child so that was one of my rules on having children she would NEVER be left alone with them, but he doesn't even talk to her anymore so I don't have to worry, YEAH!!!!! PAULA - You are absolutely right about the stupid lady at Caelen's dc, I would most definitely complain to her supervisor, she has no right to say something so obviously mean, I'm no doctor but it just sounds to me like Caelen is just being a big boy and wants to feed himself. PARIS - Hey what happened to the real Paris, bring her back LOL. What are you trying for Mommy of the Year, gardening, t-ball, just kidding glad you're keeping busy, how's the volunteering thing going. MOE - LOL at AJ and hot toes, cold toes. How sweet of AJ saying I Love You, and you can keep the boogies to yourself, don't want to ever encounter that one. LOL KAHNE - Good luck with your finals! JAMIE - I know you have probably seen these, but you can buy kids gardening sets (they're plastic) I think you can get them at Wal-Mart, Nathan loves his. Maybe Gabe will stay out of your garden if he has his own tools and a little sandbox. THERESSA - have fun at the library, sounds really great! I would love to do something like that. CHRISTINA - I agree with Paula on your posting, try not to direct them at one individual you are more likely to get responses if you keep your personal posts short and to everyone. Hope that made sense, anyway stick around TT is GREAT! PARIS - Too funny about the woman you told off at the bar is the one who will decide whether you get the job or not, only you Paris, okay maybe this could happen to me also. LOL CHRISTINA - glad you are sticking around, we have 2 things in common so far, Nathan has seen Sesame Street Live 2 yrs in a row now he loves it, Elmo is his fav., I also recommend this show for any moms and toddlers. My Nathan was also hooked up to a bunch of machinery when he was born, not quite the same story as you though, he was born full term, but still born, I didn't get to see him for 3 days, and he stayed in the intensive care unit for 2 weeks after I went home, I couldn't stay with him cause I had a csection and had to go home to recover, but I was there every day to nurse and hold my little angel. That's why his name is so sutable "Nathaniel" means gift from God. JENNI - Welcome, and the fun has just begun, every day now Nicholas will be amazing you, so don't cry over losing your baby - rejoice on the new adventures of toddlerhood. LOL BETH - True story, Nathan learned how to say I Love You from Barney, the song at the end, at first he didn't understand what it meant he thought Barney's name was I Love You, but he eventually got it. LISAB - What are you doing to poor Max's hair. Sounds like a Kodak moment. BARBARA - I was going to mention that thing about the wipes, someone told me that one time about them being irritating to little babies tender skin, glad it wasn't anything too serious. Most salons will let you bring your own tweezers. MOE - Boy you have too much time on your hands, LOL I am 33 (34 in July) Nathan is almost 3 ( May 30) Can you post the entire list for all of us so we can write the names down as well? Oh Yeah we live in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (near Toronto) and not in an igloo LOL PATTY - Too cute Jarin in his shades!!!! Okay sorry for the monster post, but I had to catch up!!! Alice & Nathan email: alicita@idirect.ca Wednesday, May 03, 2000 at 22:54:18 (EDT)) Hi, Romaine here. Gotta have some brag time here! :) Saba has been telling us about things that happen in her day (like when I would not open the gate b/c I could not watch her outside the yard and she had to wait for DH: Mommy not open gate for saba. Wait a Daddy open gate for Saba...she told us this "story several times! She also was doing somersaults all over the dining room today! She sing-songs things to tunes that we sing to her (and sings several nursery rhymes)-about 10 diferent ones that she uses in addition to her own! She counts to 6, and understands the concept of 2 things; knows her colours and shapes!! I am so very proud of her!! 'kay, thanks for letting me brag!:) Stats- (Did I do this here yet?) I am 32, DH turns 36 Monday. We have been blissfully married for 7 years this summer. I am back at work p/t teaching grade 3/4. I lost 2 babies before having Saba who turned 2 in March. I have a second DD that is 8 months, born Sept. 7. I would love to have another as I loved being pg, but then a bad day hits and the reality of dealing w/ 3 hits and I am "normalized"! I live in BC, Canada (grew up in Calgary)-woohoo w/ Darleen, Rebecca, Alice(?), Paris!! Alice-I know that I missed something-why do you neeed a d&c when ttc? LOL on Nathan telling poo-poo stories at your office! I envy you being able to go to the science center! Maryann-I love the name Mia as well! LOL that it is close to Mia Farrow-it happens! Saba was not off her bottle 'til 13 months. Paris-I grew up in Calgary! Is Baron closer to Lethbridge? 300????? Talk about NO privacy!!! Lisa B-I will try that! It has happened the odd time and I do not know why! Congrats on Baby Boy2!! Glad that this pg is going better!! Jenni-Hey there girl!!! Happy Birthday to "Nicky-boy"! I can't beleive that you are here now!!! Mya is not too far behind :( I hear you on looking at the days b4 the birthday and thinking about the anticipation and now you cannot imagine life w/out him! Hope he likes the balloons! Rebecca-How exciting!! Good luck to Paige!! Theressa-Happy late b-day to Marcus!! Sue- I love the lady's comment about growing something more important!! Our gardens are in a similar state-but from 3 summers of neglect!! The 1st summer I was JUST pg w/ Saba and was very cautious b/c of the previous losses, so no weeding; the second summer we were too busy w/ Saba; last summer I was too big to be bothered to bend! And we had gotten rid of most of the weeds the previous summers and now we start again! Sarah-Thanks for the well-wishes for my surgery! It is so exciting to watch their language (and everything else!) develop! Saba's language really started to explode at 22 months! Lisa B- have fun at the zoo!!! Jenni-How cute Nicholas must look feeding his baby!! Good luck w/ TTC! Darleen-Good luck w/ TTC! Helen-OMG!! 10??? Christina-Hey! I would be interestd in 2's stories!! Has Alyssa been "terrible" yet?? Saba's hit last Fri! She has been really hard on DD2-sibling rivalry has arrived! I am so very sorry that you lost Jonathan. It is so difficult to lose a child. I am glad that you are healing. Theressa- Have fun being the library lady! My BF's mom did it for years and loved it! She was televised on a local station! Martha-HEY! It sounds like you are renovating? Barbara-Hope that Stephen's bottom gets well!! I could use a waxing-but the last time I had it done, the lady was so rough w/ the after-plucking that I have not been to keen to try again even w/ someone else! LOL on your "bert" comment!! Patty-ICK!!! A nasty parent note!! From someone that is also a teacher? She does not sound like she knows how to approach someone in a very productive manner!! I wonder how she would feel receiving a note in your situation!? There certainly better ways of approaching you if she felt that her daughter was frustrated! Where is her head at??? BTW thanks for the student support. The poor kid has been in 4 (or was it 5) different schools and he is only in grade 3! he pulled another stunt yesterday, but today went really well (when the principal talked about his behaviours last week, Mom blamed "other" parents. Yup, it's other people's fault... Jamie-LOLOLOLOL on YOU getting the teeth! I hope that you are successful finding a dentist!! and that you can overcome your fear of "going Under". I have for my teeth, my last procedure that leads me into this surgery; as well and 3 d&cs (2 m/cs and not all the placenta came out after Saba) and it has been fine. I am a lttle nervous about the surgery though-the thought of someone cutting up my kidney is mighty scary for me!! Thanks for your support ladies! I don't know if I will have time to post b4 Mon, but I may lurk! Good-night mommies and toddlers! Romaine and Saba 2 email: rrantry@yahoo.ca Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 00:15:25 (EDT)) Forgot to thank you all for your responses to my delight in Saba's I love you! (I sure hope that my mongo post was posted like I think it was!!! Ispent an hour on it!!) I noticesome typos I hope that you will over-look them!:) Romaine Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 00:17:31 (EDT)) Hi Everyone, I'm very tired, and getting a cold, so if I make mistakes please forgive me. We spent 2 hrs at our new, but old house, trying to figure out what we are going to renovate before we move in in 27 days!! We have decided to add an extension first thing because we need the additional space. It should be a really fun month. NOT!!! Enough whining from me. Christina-I actually have a close friend who lost her baby five yrs ago. He too would be 6 this yr, and I can't even begin to imagine what that must have been like for either of you. She like you has had supportive family and friends and is doing well. Your courage is commendable. Jenni-Congratulations on officially graduating to TT. Happy b-day to your little one. Beth-Caelen will not say I love you either. He only sings it to Bahney (Barney), the little stinker. Thanks for the weather wish, it was sunny by noon. Where in KY are you? My Dad lives in Frankfort. The last time I was there was in 97. Barbara-Happy to hear that things went well at the Doctor's. I am very afraid to wax. I tried it once, well you know where, and it was too painful, so I ended up having to shave not only the hair but the wax as well. Thank goodness I was home alone, or it could have been very embarrassing, me running through the house screaming, "Oh no, Oh NO!!" LOL Sarah-That's neat that you got to hear Rita's voice. I have made up faces and voices for all of you, it would be neat to see how close I am. You have to same b-day as my DD. Moe-Poor DH, bleeding while you laugh.LOL!!! It sounded very funny. What was AJ's reaction?? (you probably already said and I just missed it) Darleen-Partying with Paris does sound like fun. Jamie-Sorry about your teeth. I had to have mine removed when I was 24, and I'll spare you the details. I also like my MIL at a distance. But apparently she may be moving here too. She happened to meet, in her home town which is about 7hrs from here, and fall in love with, someone who lives here (what are the odds of that!!!). And he's proposed to her. Have to wait and see what happens. Romaine- Wow, what great talking from Saba. I too and proudly Canandian (also have American and English citizenship, long story). I also am in British Columbia (BC). Both DH and myself are 27, with DD 6 (soon to be 7) and DS 18 months, 10/22. Well time for me to take some Buckley's and go to bed. Bye for now, Paula and Kids Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 02:25:00 (EDT)) Hey! Crazy lady here! ha ha. In case anyone doesn't already know, it's Paris. :0) Well, what a day! My child spoke a sentence!!!! I was so excited. I was chatting with Darleen and the older monsters were outside and Quinn went to the door and said, "I'm going outside. Bye bye!!!" I just sorta went OH MY GOD!!! My child spoke her first sentence! Ask Darleen I was pretty excited. She is getting sick though. The poor thing. She sat or sorry laid on the floor and watched Babe three times in a row. She had such a fever. My little peanut. :0( That's probably why we've had so many cuddles. That one is such a gogetter! Anyway, sad thing! I don't think this show airs in the States so this is for the Canadians...the Friendly Giant died!!! How sad! I didn't know until today! Darleen and I were just chatting about him the other day. Very sad! Anyway, I just finished watching the Country Music Awards! I totally am buying a pair of leather pants. Everyone has them now and I want them. I've lost weight I am back down to my preprego weight! yay me!!! And so I think I need a pair! Okay, I'm rambling on to personals. Darleen: LOL on getting Nolan before he puked! How was newcomers tonight? More fun than last time? Oh, yes come and party with me! OH MY GOD! You saw the video of Wickzie (Swedish Rugby player) not the tatood one showing his ass, the other one. Anyway, we were chatting today and I finally translated his height and weight. I thought he was around 6 feet and about 200 pounds. You know a nice size! My god he's 6 foot 5 and 260 pounds!!!!!!! Anyway, I was calling him my friendly giant! :0( for the real one. I'm telling you! ICQ!!!! LOL Barbara: Wow, I'm glad they sanitize those tweezers. I was so grossed out just thinking about you getting plucked with dirty tweezers!!! Too gross! Christina: Hope you had fun at the bar. We have a bar that has 1 cent night for ladies. Holy I could take 20 cents and just be sooooo loaded. Heck, I could take 5 cents!!! LOL None of you believe me do you? :0) You're thinking she needs at least 50 cents. LOL Patty: You need to log on again! I loved our chat! I'll be making another video soon! LOL Maybe this weekend. :0) Charline: Is MA Montana? Just curious. Jamie: Sorry but LOL on you getting teeth! I literally laughed out loud when I read that! My wisdom teeth came in when I had my braces. They just gave me a local and pulled them. It wasn't that bad. It's really bad when they have to cut them out but yours are coming through so you should be okay! I hope anyway! :0) Good luck! Romaine: Sept. 7 eh? That's mine too. Be prepared for a WILD one! LOL Barons is about 50 kms north of Lethbridge. And 40 kms east of Claresholm. :0) And no there is no such thing as privacy here! It's pathetic sometimes. I swear if they don't know everything they make stuff up! However, I can make stuff up too!!! LOL LOL LOL Alice: I left you for last cuz undoubtedly you will be the longest. :0) By the way, you never tell me anything! Where did you go? You didn't tell me did you? Was I having a Robert Downey Jr. lets see how many brain cells we can kill moment? ha ha. Gotta laugh at myself sometimes. Okay most of the time!!! Mommy of the year eh? Hmmm, don't think that honour will be bestowed upon me any time soon! Although my kids would give it to me cuz I'M FUN!!! :0) We had a music party today. Tomorrow is let's dance and make brownies and have pop day. It's supposed to rain. Volunteering is great. I really need to talk to you on the phone to relate all the stories. God, they are so funny. Alex is doing great at t-ball! Such a little man I tell ya! I'll call ya tomorrow night k? Okay, now that my monster (always) post is coming to a close you are all breathing a sigh of relief I am sure! :0) You don't even want to get me on the phone! LOL Okay, play safe! That's my new saying and I think it's important so I'm keeping it. :0) Night ladies! Paris and Quinn email: pariscosby@hotmail.com Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 02:26:56 (EDT)) STATS : Theressa 30 (June 15) DH - Rodney 31, Bryton 6 (Jan 15), Joshua 5 (Feb 10), Tiana 3 (Dec 13), Marcus 2 (Apr 30), and Thad (b Jan 31,2000 d Feb 10, 2000) Live in Lehi, Utah. Married 8 yrs in Sept. Lived in North Carolina and Missouri. Am currently a SAHM. Did I forget anything? I read the posts, but I am also working on my Storytime for tommorrow, so I am not into replying tonight. I'll post tommorrow and let everyone know how it went. Oh, I have been working on a personal site - http://RTNorman.homestead.com There are a few pictures - mostly Tiana and Thad so far. (Be warned that the pictures of Thad are the day before the funeral) Anyway - I will let everyone know when the site is done w/ all the kids pics. CHRISTINA - My oldest son, Bryton was born almost 7 weeks premature, and stayed in the hospital in neonatal for 10 days, then under observation for another 10 days. He was a fighter, and came thru ok. The first week, we weren't sure that he was going to make it, but then he did a complete turn around - and has been going strong ever since. He is now 6. But I have not been without loss. I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy Jan 31 this year. We called him Thad, and he was doing well. Then when he turned 9 days old, he got some congestion - so I took him to the doctor. The Dr said that he would be fine, and sent us home. The next day - Thad died of Pneumonia. So now I am writing a book in his memeory called "A labor of love" It is a collection of birth stories, and a labor journal. I have a web site at http://alaboroflove.homestead.com (Bryton's story is posted there) Thank you everyone for the Birthday Wishes for Marcus! Theressa email: labor_story@yahoo.com Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 02:45:33 (EDT)) Well, Theressa I knew you would post after me! :0) Anyway, I'm going to check out your webistes. I just had to say that you are so strong! Christina as well. I just am amazed by it! I know I joke about lots of things (okay mostly everything) but I don't think I could handle what the two of you have been through. Hats off to you ladies! I swear, you are both amazing! It just scares the hell (whatever about the language) out of me to think of anything ever happening to one of my 'monsters'. We just try so hard to protect them from everything and sometimes we can't. I totally am so in awe of both of you for your strength! I just had to say that! It truly is amazing and inspiring to everyone! :0) Paris again email: pariscosby@hotmail.com Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 03:41:38 (EDT)) One more and I'm done! Theressa: Your kids are adorable! You look a lot different than I pictured. :0) What lovely pictures of Thad. He is such an angel. He looks like he is sleeping. I'm saying this as tears are streaming down my face. He looks just like a tiny munchkin sleeping peacefully. :0) I think it's awesome you are doing a tribute to his life with your book! Okay, I'm done. You guys should all go and see how cute Theressa's kids are! Little turned up noses and all. :0) But, like Theressa said the pics of Thad are really I don't know what the word is, I really don't. My god for once I am at a loss for words. Thank you for sharing your pics with us Theressa. I'm sure we can all draw strength from your experience. Night ladies. For good this time. :0) Paris Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 04:05:18 (EDT)) Hello from Helen&Amanda!! Helen&Amanda@21mos(DS@14yrsDD@12yrs) email: MHIM27@worldnet.att.net Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 07:48:48 (EDT)) A really quick post with my stats. My name is Beth. I am 29 and so is DH. Beth and Allison (2 in 20 days :-( ) Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 09:11:05 (EDT)) Good morning ladies..SARAH here. Well, my little punkin is 20 months today!!! I can't believe how time flies! She was in such a good mood last night...hyper, hyper, hyper. She got a package in the mail from our dear friend. TONS of books, outfit, figurines, picture albums, stuffed animal, etc. WOW!!!!! The books are adorable!! HANNAH started saying "please". She knows when to say "thank you" and when to say "please". She's actually been saying "thank you" for about 4 or 5 months now. We were reading "Go Dog Go" last night, and she kept saying "Hello"...I wasn't really paying attention (I was watching the hockey game..which we WON!!) Well, I looked down, and it was the page where the female dog (bitch LOL) keeps asking the male dog if he likes her hat. And it starts off, "Hello", "Hello", "Do you like my hat?", etc. She's sooo smart! :) (Hope that all made sense) JENNI - HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICHOLAS!!!!!!!! :) :) :) DARLEEN - Good for you calling the gym. CHRISTINA - SO...how was your night out???? How are you feeling today? Wednesday is usually my night out, but it's Saturday night this week!! :) I can't wait! PATTY - I'll bet that was so hard for you to leave!!! The other day, DH was at work and I moved my car from the garage to the driveway. Well, HANNAH thought I was leaving and just started bawling while standing at the door. It BROKE my heart!!!! Thanks for the 20 month wishes! :) I didn't watch PO5, but taped it. I'll watch it today. Unfortunately, RITA and I didn't get together. We will next time. BETH - I don't know how HANNAH started saying "Love you"...just did. :) CHARLINE - I've had days like that, where HANNAH is in such a good mood before her nap, and then not after. Just the other day, in fact. JAMIE - You can vent here anytime. ALICE - Glad you're feeling better. I was wondering where you were. ROMAINE - I've noticed her vocabulary taking off just in the last couple of weeks. PAULA - Hey, great people are born on May 23rd! :) What is your email address? I'll send some pictures. PARIS - I want leather pants too!!! I'm about 10 lbs from my prepreggo body (but I don't think I'll EVER be 105 again!!) I thing they're so awesome! THERESSA - I checked out the website. THAD looks like a little angel!! WOW. Your other kids are just adorable!! Well ladies, gotta go. I can't wait to get off today. It's supposed to be 85 here today!!!!! :) Have a great day! GO AVS!!!! Sarah and Hannah (20 months) email: smoore@geatoir.cfer.com Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 09:38:08 (EDT)) Hello mommies from Sue and Cameron. I'm still soooo busy at work trying to catch up from vacation. Here in Mass., it is GORGEOUS outside. Sunny and in the lower 70s. Of course it rained all week when we were off last week. My timing stinks! Last night we had a realtor come over to do a market analysis on our house. We really need more space and think we're going to put ours on the market. Our house is tiny (2 bedrooms and only 1 bathroom) and OLD. We've put tons of work into it, but are cramped in there like sardines! We're also discussing the possibility of adopting a child in the next year or two and will definately need another bedroom or two. Our town is really growing, so it seems like a good time to try to sell. I'm sure I'll be a stressed-out basket case in no time. LOL! MOE - stats are as follows: I'm 37 (boo hoo!) and DH is closing in on 39. We've been married for 12 1/2 years and Cameron is our one and only at 16 months. He was a wonderful surprise for us after years of unsuccessful infertility treatment. DH is a machinist and I'm a HR Manager. We live in a small town in Mass where MA, RI and CT all come together. JENNI - HAPPY B-DAY TO NICHOLAS! Back to the grind. Ick! Talk more later. SMILE! Sue and Cameron email: sbarry@key.org Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 12:15:05 (EDT)) Hayley here - been gone for a while on vacation in New Orleans, then just too darn busy to catch up on the postings. DH and I had a great time at Jazzfest - it was like the old days before Becca was born! We definitely overpunched our party card going out to clubs at night to see bands after being at the festival all day, but it was worth it. Becca did fine with my IL's. When I went to pick her up, she cryed and was very cranky, but when she saw daddy, she ran to him with a big smile and her arms outstretched! I think she's going to become a daddy's girl! She also learned some phrases while we were gone - sit down, lay down, open the door, close the door. My MIL also did her hair in little braids - very cute! Beth - I'm envious of your Derby local - we're going to a friend's annual Derby Day party Sat. - have to buy a nice chapeau for Becca! Darlene - only 7 more months of Clinton - will you become a Yank in January??? Theressa - nice website - your kids are very cute. hayley and becca, 19 mos. email: hayley.thompson@citicorp.com Thursday, May 04, 2000 at 13:21:22 (EDT)) Hi from LisaB. Max has inherited my clumbiness - he ran into the diaper genie, his dresser, and my toilet this morning, all within a 30 minute time frame. I'm half expecting a call from the sitter today staying he's injured himself there - LOL!!! You guys were busy posters yesterday so I'll head straight to the personals. MOE: The "I too" is so sweet!!!! JAMIE: Gabe is a little gardner, huh?! THERESSA: YEAH for Marcus being such a trooper with getting his stitches out. Storytime for the toddlers would be great. I worked in a library one summer when I was in high school and did the story hour program and loved it!!! PAULA: Birdie only posts sporadically. She works out of her home and I imagine that between work and a toddler that she's probably too busy to keep up!!! I wonder where some of the other regulars have disappeared to (Kelly/Bear, Melissa/Molly, etc.). PARIS: OOPS, telling off the person you want to hire you!!!! MARTHA: Max LOVES french fries. I make them at home ocassionally, baked in the oven. They are a perfect finger food for him and if you bake them they aren't so greasy/fatty. CHRISTINA: Moriah's little boy Alex was in neonatal ICU for a long time after he was born. Moriah generally posts about once a week or so. JENNI: I hope Nicholas had a happy birthday!!! BETH: Max has never said "I love you" either. I guess he and Allison are both pretty ornery, huh?! BARBARA: I'm glad Stephen only had a little irritation. I've never had my brows waxed - I just pluck them at home (if you do it pretty often and right after a hot steamy shower it barely hurts at all). I would assume the hairstylist puts the tweezers in alcohol after using them on a person, like they do with the combs, to sanitize them. SARAH: I felt the exact same way when I talked to Moriah on the phone ... it's cool to actually hear a voice!!! I'm sorry it didn't work out that you and Rita could meet, but like you said there's always next time!! MOE: Here's my stats. I'm 33 and work as an Assistant Controller, DH is 36 and works as a computer information technician, Max is 20 months (DOH 8/28/98) and works at driving his parents crazy (just kidding), and we're from central Missouri! DH and I have been married almost 6 years. The next one is due September 4 (per u/s) or 17 (per last menstrual period). DARLEEN: Hey, I'm an American and Clinton disgusts me. I'm glad to say I've NEVER voted for him (not that it made any difference - LOL!!!!) PATTY: I'm sorry Jarin is crying again when you leave. That breaks your heart to have to drive away, doesn't it? I can't believe I'm 1/2 way there either!!! I look in the mirror and say "who the heck is that HUGE pg woman?" ... and then I remember it's me. I don't know why but this pg just doesn't feel as "real" as it did with Max. JAMIE: Maybe Gabe was having symphathy teething pains - LOL!!! No cavities? WOW - my mouth is FULL of feelings. Sorry your MIL is being a pain. I've trained Max well - he YELLS at DH every night until Tom puts his work shoes in the front closet, picks up the clothes DH throws at the hamper and puts them in the hamper, etc!!!!! ALICE: I was wondering about you - it's unusual for you to be gone for so long!!! Considering MIL's past history, I wouldn't let her anywhere near Nathan either. I'm so sorry to hear Nathan was stillborn. It's amazing that they were able to revive him and that he's doing so well!!! If I remember right from the pictures I've seen, he's even BIG for his age!!! ROMAINE: Saba sounds adorable with her gate story and somersaults!!! She also sounds smart counting so well and knowing so many nursery songs. Max knows his colors and shapes, as he can pick them out when you say where's the "blue circle", for example - but he insists on calling every color YELLOW!!!! PAULA: I hope you feel better soon. PARIS: YEAH on Quinn saying a sentence!!! SARAH: Hannah is so polite, with her please and thank you!!! And yes, your adorable "hello" story made perfect sense. SUE: It's been in the 70s here all week ... gorgeous!!! I wish we got some rain. We're 3-4 inches "short" for the year already and they are predicting a dry spring/summer. Hopefully our well is deep - LOL!!! I think adopting would be great for you guys!!!! I forgot that you work in HR. We just hired 8 people in our Bureau and it was hell getting everything through personnel. Of course it was probably just that government red tape!!!! HAYLEY: I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation. I'm glad Becca did so good without you and DH. It's great that you were able to get some couple time. I swear sometimes that the only things DH and I have to talk about anymore are Max and the new baby and our respective jobs - LOL!!! THERESA: You and your family are all gorgeous. I loved the pictures of Thad. It tears at your heart to see any child, especially an infant, in a cof |
