Toddlers Today's MomsTalk Archive Suzi, and Theresse. I think there is somebody else also, but I'm so tired right now that I can't think straight. We had to cancel our birthday plans because all three of Danielle's siblings have come down with something. We just got a ton of baloons and let her open her gifts here with us and then we had pizza, cake, and ice cream. It was actually kind of nice not having a big party. Danielle had a blast anyway. I got her a baby pool and filled it with balloons. She sat in that thing and played all evening. Well, I need to get some sleep. I hope to get to know all of you in the near future and look forward to chatting with you. Have a great Sunday! Connie and Danielle-1 yr old today email: jdcacohn@juno.com Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 01:15:47 (EDT)) Hi all, Kahne here! If you didn't get this e mail that I just sent, here it is again! Cat made the front page of our paper! The website is www.picayuneitem.com! (The link is at the bottom!) I hope all of you get the chance to go see it. It will be on the web until monday. I miss you all, but I am on the way to my mother's graduation so I dont have much time. I will be back soon, though! Love and Miss you all! Kahne and Cat 16 months email: www.picayuneitem.com Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 12:59:08 (EDT)) Hello All, Darleen here! Nolan is in bed for the night. We had a very grumpy boy on our hands today. We went to try and look at houses, but Nolan was very unco-operative, so we put an end, and thought we would go out for supper. Well.... that too ended quickly, Nolan was being unco-operative in the restaurant so Dh, and I enhaled our food, and left as quickly as we could. So he had a bath, and nice warm cup, and off to bed early. Peace and quiet at last!! Dh was at his wit ends with Nolan so I figured the best place was in his bed, and hopefully for the night! We went to my sisters over night, and Nolan had fun with her kids. Last night Dh, and my brother-in-law set off fireworks. Nolan liked them from inside the house, he did not like the noise. And tomorrow Nolan and I will relax while Dh goes into work, on a holiday, oh well! Not sure what Nolan and I will do since it is a holiday, and no stores are open unfortunately! Personals: SarahG.-I haven't been watching Days very long, only for 18months, since Nolan was born. I used to sleep when he did, but I figured I wasn't being a good wife if I slept all afternoon, so I got interested in Days, and haven't stopped watching it since. That is why I'm glad I'm done work at 1pm, Nolan goes to bed, then I get to watch Days. Works out great! LOL! MaryAnn & Mia- I love Drive-Ins, haven't been to one in years, but they were great when I was a teenager! Use to take our own drinks and food, and have a great time. Now we are responsible adults! Try to be anyways! Connie & Danielle- Welcome!Hope your other 3 children are feeling better soon. Nolan is fighting a cold, or teething one or the other. I just know he is miserable! Kahne & Cat-I will check out the website with Cat's picture on it. You must have been excited to see her picture on the front page! "Proud Mommy Moment"!! Alice-Thanks for the pictures of Nathan, what a cutey! Hope you are enjoying your long week-end! Moe & A.J- Moe, you are going to need to wear a hockey mask or something to protect yourself. What a "Love" bully you have! You must be any easy target! LOL! Defend yourself! Take lessons or something! Patty & Jarin- Sorry to read about Jarins fall out of the crib. I hope he is ok. Poor little guy! That's all folks I am off to bed! Have a great night, and for those of you that have the holiday tomorrow, enjoy, I know I will! Darleen & Nolan email: jndsmith@sprint.ca Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 21:20:08 (EDT)) Hi Darleen again! Kahne- Good picture of Cat, and her grandma! It turned out great. That is a kodiac moment! Sue & Cameron- I like the gardening poem you posted! I wished I had gardens so I could relate, but we only have a cement pad with all Nolan's toys on it. Hopefully when we buy/build! Have a great night everyone! Darleen & Nolan Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 21:29:50 (EDT)) Julianne here, wishing the weekend wasn't almost over. At least it is a short week. I have off Friday and next Monday for Memorial Day! Yeah, a 4-day weekend, whatever will I do??? Big news: Colton went pee-pee in his potty Saturday!! We haven't even really started p/t yet. He said "potty" and I thought why not, let's try. He goofed around on his potty for a few minutes and DH was in the bathroom egging him on. I was so surprised when I lifted him off and he had gone. We really praised him for his accomplishment. So I guess it is time to officially start p/t! Colton also got to ride on a horse for the first time with Grandma. He stood at the door saying "ride horse" until we left for Grandma's house. When he got on he had big smiles and was saying "weeee". He was a goofus all weekend. He was crawling through the branches of the trees that we had cut down. When I would ask him what he was doing he would say "hiding". He had a riot jumping on the neighbor's trampoline tonight. Usually he bounces just a little and wants to get off. Well, not tonight. He was Mr. Showoff bigtime. I was so glad that we had such a fun day together today. I was supposed to go to a bridal shower but decided to skip it since it was such a nice day and I wanted to spend time playing with Colton instead. Sarahg: Hope Isaac's stutter goes away on it's own real soon. Mis: I've never been to a drive-in. Always wanted to though but there aren't any open around here. Patty: Hope Jarin's boo-boos heal quickly. Moe: Your face is just a magnet for pain these days. Ouch. Connie: Welcome, the balloons in the pool sounds like a great idea. I'll have to try that for Colton's 2nd b-day. Happy birthday Danielle. Kahne: I'll check out the website--how cool for Cat! Darleen: Enjoy your holiday. Hope Nolan stops being Mr. Grumpy for you. Julianne & Colton 22 mo email: dnjjones@altelco.net Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 21:45:37 (EDT)) Hi Mums, Maryann here. Well, we did go to the drive in, not April Wine. Had a great time, the movies were excellent! It's the only drive in in the area, the other two closed up a couple of years ago. Now we have to drive about 1/2 hour. Oh well, it's worth it! You girls were talking about 90210 etc and the season finales...well, I'm not into that...I'm into X-files etc. And tonight was IT'S season finale!! Wow! Fox abducted by aliens and Scully pregnant, obviously by 'divine' alien intervention! Great show..and Duchovny isn't too hard to look at either! Today we took Mia down to the tulip festival and watched a floatila. It was wonderful to spend the time together as a family. I just don't know where the time goes. Connie: I jumped onto this board a little early actually. Mia is just turning one next week. But I felt that she was doing quite a few things ahead of schedule (although she's taking her time walking on her own...) that I'd get better advice on this board - and I was right! Happy belated B-Day to Danielle turning one and I hope that her sibs are feeling better soon! Julianne: Congrats on your little one going to potty! I'm really nervous about it all, cause I hear to soooo many different stories! Well, my hubby's out jamming with a couple of friends (mainly Stevie Ray Vaughn, Clapton etc) and I'm trying not to be jealous. So, I think I'll go now and check out the preconception site on this page...maybe I'll get a couple ideas for TTC. I'm getting more and more excited about having another baby. I think it will all work out just fine. Byebye, Maryann & Mia email: dareandmare@sympatico.ca Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 22:44:43 (EDT)) Opps, just realized it looks like DH is jamming WITH SRV and Clapton...doesn't he wish!!! (except that SRV is deceased...) I meant that he plays SRV etc.. :) Maryann & Mia email: dareandmare@sympatico.ca Sunday, May 21, 2000 at 22:47:18 (EDT)) Hey moms and tots from Lee. I've been here almost every day but just when I think I can post: mommy alert. My kids must know when I want to come here to get away. Cause they always call me when I get here.LOL That's life with 4 kids. This weekend 2 of the kids went for visitation at other parents houses. Thought it would only be Hunter and Gabby. Wrong. I had 3 of Gabbys friends spend the nite. And since Hunter is the brother they don't have he got very spoiled this week-end. He knows he's loved so that's what matters. He was being SOOOO cute this morning. My little rugrat. Lance graduated from Kindergarten at church Sun. And me up in the choir crying w/out tissue. Was so proud. Finally got rain. YEAH!!!!! Welcome to the new posters. Looking forward to getting to know ya'll. VBS is coming up in June. I'm teaching kindergarten and can't wait. I finally got a job!!!!!! Going to start babysitting tomorrow. Got about5 kids lined up besides my 4. I know I will be busy but we really need the money since DH gave a month notice at the resturant he works at. No job yet so PLEASE send up your prayers. Hunters exema is under control and Gabby is all better. THANK YOU ALICE for the wonderful tips. They worked. Didn't get to call the Ped. back as my long distace has been suspended. It sucks b/c Gabby started having a rash and no way to call the dr. I called AT&T to see if they could help me BUT NOOOOOOOOO I was so pissed. I know they have rules but it's not like I wanted to chit chat I needed to call the dr. Needless to say I told them where to go and how to go and how to get there. Shouldn't have But the mom in me goes into overdrive when it comes to my kids. Luckly I've good sense and figured out what was wrong and fixed it. But I did tell them it was soory when they expect my kids to go hungry so they can have their money. But when it comes down to feeding my kids or letting a bill slide..... THE BILL WILL SLIDE!!!! I hope I'm not alone in feeling this way. Thanks for letting me vent. I haven't been able to get it off my chest w/out the phone. And my calling area is SO restricted b/c of where I live OH well THIS TO SHALL PASS!!!!! My post is already so long I will start fresh with my personnals. Sorry. OH I forgot the most important thing. Hunter goes potty on the big potty everyday! No poopie but hey it's a start. We'll get him a potty when we can afford it. YEAH for pottying Hunter. Well, gotta go for now but I promise to check in tonite and do personnals then. Until then TTFN (ta ta for now) Have a great day w/ your little ones I will. Lee and Hunter2.5 email: Lee-B@att.net Monday, May 22, 2000 at 09:46:04 (EDT)) Hi from LisaB. Max "walked in" on DH and I having sex Friday. Thankfully we heard him coming down the hall and covered ourselves up before he came in ... so hopefully we didn't scar him for life. LOL!!! DH left yesterday for a week of training. Max cried when I left the sitters this morning - probably thinking I'm deserting him also. Unfortunately, I've found I just CAN'T keep up with this board, especially since I can only post from work. I still plan to post but probably will not be as good about responding to everyone. I enjoy reading everyone's posts but just don't have the time to make notes to everyone. DARLEEN: Max is 20 months old and screamed the whole time he got his hair cut last week! MARTHA: I'm glad Mary Beth wasn't hurt with the cut glass. All kids have accidents ... don't beat yourself up over it. MOE: Max screams when I use the clippers on DH ... I wouldn't DARE get near his head with them!!! I'm sorry AJ attacked you again, you poor thing. JULIANNE: How funny, trash in the laundry hamper!! PAULA: The pg is going well. It just doesn't seem to have "sunk in" yet that we'll have another baby in a few months. I guess it's dreading the change ... how will Max react, how will I have time for 2 kids, etc. SarahG: Any family change is stressful to children; Isaac is probably just stuttering due to the stress. I bet it passes once he realizes that Daddy is still a big part of his life ... even if he doesn't live in your house anymore. PATTY: Sorry Jarin bumbed his head. CONNIE: Welcome!!! I'm an assistant controller so your DH and I have something in common!!! I'm sorry you have a houseful of sick kids. JULIANNE: YEAH on Colton using the poty!!! Max asked to use it this weekend but sat on it with no action!! It sounds like he enjoyed his horse ride!! LEE: Yeah on Lance's graduation! Congrats on getting a job. YEAH on the potty progress!!! LisaB & Max (20 mo) & 23 wk pg email: lisa_lab@hotmail.com Monday, May 22, 2000 at 10:41:01 (EDT)) Hey from Tara.... I know I havent posted in awhile. I've been kinda busy. My car broke down last Tuesday, and hubbby has been gone since Monday. He doesnt come home until Friday, So I have to wait to see whats wrong with it. Why does all the bad stuff happen when they are gone? LOL , anyways we have been trying to stay busy. Adriana didnt notice DH gone until Friday, then she asked for him. Its hard for me to explain to her. Otherwise she has been doing well. I had her bangs cut, she looks like a little girl now, not a baby. Awww, As for me, I feel like Im gonna pop. I cant wait to have this baby. LOL, well on to a few posts, Rita: Hey, how is everything? Paris: Hey girl!!! Tara and Adriana Monday, May 22, 2000 at 11:54:36 (EDT)) Hello from Rita We have had some really hot weather these past few days. I had both girls out in their wading pool yesterday. I have a hard time getting Amy to keep her hat on. She is so fair and I really slather on the sunscreen. I was the one to get burned this weekend. LOL. My posting is probably going to get pretty sporadic as I have some projects to do at work before my boss leaves and I also have some vacation (yah) coming up. I can't wait to go camping this coming weekend with all of my five sibs and their families. Tara - We are doing okay. Did you get your car fixed? I hope that you are going to bring all of your scrapbooking stuff when you come in August. We just have to convince Denise that she can do it too! Kahne - Cat looked so cute! Well, I have to get ready for a conference call. Take care everyone! Rita & Amy email: ritad@home.com Monday, May 22, 2000 at 13:25:47 (EDT)) Hi Ladies. Paris here! Wow, I am going to be a chatterbox here! Quinn is soooo cute!! ha ha. She's been wearing her pretty little dresses and just looks so adorable. How is everyone getting their kids to go pee on the potty? Maybe I'm just being lazy or something. I don't know. I can't get her to go. Although I don't use a potty, I just use the seat and a stool. I figure it's easier than retraining them to go on the toilet. Hmmmm, maybe I should get a potty. So, I think DH is having a midlife crisis! LOL It's amusing really. But, he's growing a goatee and is getting funky new glasses and a tatoo! I told him I'd get him a pair of black leather pants too if he wanted! LOL I'm waiting for him to want a new sports car or something. Well, Tim comes in two days and I think we are pretty much ready for him. I think anyway. The way I am, I'm never ready for anything. Today is our first tball game. I hope we win. :0) I'm going to get some film and take pics of the little ones in their uniforms. We have recruited another girl to play now. Only problem is I only have 7 uniforms and they are all taken. I had to drop one off yesterday to the woman that hates me. She was nice though. They were having a big party and Peter said oh, did you want me to take it up? I said no, I can do this! LOL She was nice though. Her son is just so darn cute! All he does is smile all the time. ha ha. Very cute. We went up to the lake on Saturday! Quinn loved that. She kept taking off though. Peter was having a coronary. Like the Lake was pretty far away and it's not like there were any cars. It would have taken her about 10 minutes to walk to the Lake, so we would have caught her. Okay, well a few personals from what I can remember. LisaB: LOL at Max walking in on you!!! ha ha ha. Kahne: The pic was great of Cat and her grandmother! Where have you been lately? I haven't seen you on icq. Oh, and your diary entry is in now. I left you a message. :0) Julianne: Yay for Colton. Patty: Sure hope you have a better week this week!!! Welcome to all the new people! I didn't take notes. Hi to everyone else. I guess this is long enough eh? I hope all you guys have a good long weekend next weekend. We are having ours this weekend! :0) Bye for now! Paris and Quinn email: pariscosby@hotmail.com Monday, May 22, 2000 at 14:37:39 (EDT)) Hello Ladies! It is 94 degrees out today and we are expecting over 100 this week. Yuck! We had a very nice weekend. I took my children to the zoo. Pulled my kids in a wagon. They were so cute. AJ and his hat on and his pop. Every person we would go by he would tell them "Hi" and then we would pass them and then he would say "Bye...See Ya" It was so cute. He had lots of people laughing. We rode by a couple of teens laying in the grass alittle close and he would yell "Hi" We rode about an hour and a half. Boy that is a lot of walking for me esp. when you are pulling a wagon!! Patty - I hope your week goes better. Hang in there school is almost out! How is Jarins head??Poor thing! Julieanne - Wow, Colton went potty!! AJ goes through the motion, but nothing. He is starting to pull on his diaper, maybe it is a sign! Paula - Pics on the way. Sarah g - Good idea about things settle b/4 you mention it to him. Maryann- We had a drive in years ago. It was fun. Too bad my kids won't experience it. They would have got a big kick out of watching a movie sitting by the car in their jammies. Connie - Welcome Kahne - Saw the picture..Cool Darleen - I am trying to defend myself from AJ, but he is too darn quick!! Lee - AJ is really having a bad break out with the exema. I need to call for another prescription. Lisa - LOL on Max almost catching you!! That has not happened yet. My oldest sleeps like a brick. AJ,..Half the time he is with me!! Paris - We will have our 2nd t-ball tonight. We don't keep score or nothing. Everyone hits and runs. It is sooo funny to watch. The last game I had to take AJ to the car, he wanted to play and ran out in the field. It was funny DH yells "Get that kid off the field!" I hope people realized that was his kid and not someone elses!! :0 Well mommies have a good evening!!! Moe and AJ 21 months Monday, May 22, 2000 at 17:20:03 (EDT)) Hi ladies, Charline & Hayden here. Hayden got tooth #6 today. I forgot to tell you guys about when DH gave Hayden a bath last week. He let Hayden run around naked after his bath and went to get the video camera. When he came back there was a huge puddle in the hallway with Hayden standing next to it with a big grin on his face(LOL!) Corde-Thanks for the well wishes. I'm feeling better now. How was the wedding? Sarah-Glad to hear that you are feeling better. That's great that your DH got you tickets to a hockey game. How was it? My migraine is completely gone now:) Thanks for asking. I hope that Hannah feels better soon. LisaB.-Thanks for the well wishes. LOL about Max putting your clothes all over the house! Darleen-Glad to hear that your job is going so well. Hope that Nolan is in a better mood for you today. Martha-Glad to hear that MaryBeth wasn't hurt with the broken jar. Kris-My son, Hayden who is now 13 months old loves Gymboree! He has been going to it since he was about 5 months old. I think that it has a lot to do with the teacher about how good the class is. His teacher that he loved just left so I don't think that we will sign up again next session. You can always go and try a free class to see if you and your baby like it. It is expensive. We also had his first birthday party there and it was great! Moe-I think that Teddy thinks that he is human sometimes. I'll have to remind him to give Laser a call. What kind of a dog is Laser? Teddy is a Bishon Frise. I hope that your lip heals quickly.Ouch! Patty-Yes, my migraine is finally gone. Thanks for asking. I hope that you are feeling 100% soon! Sorry to hear about Jarin's 2 bumps on his head:( Julianne-It sounds like Colton is really talking up a storm. That's great that he said hot when he saw fire in the news. Yeah for Colton peeing in the potty! He must have looked adorable riding on the horse. SarahG-Glad to hear that Isaac transitioned so well to the bed with a rail. Connie & Danielle-Welcome! Happy first Birthday to Danielle! Sorry to hear that everyone was sick for her party. But, it sounds like she had a nice day anyway:) Kahne-Wow, Cat was on the front page! It is an adorable picture! Maryann-Glad to hear that the drive-in movie was fun. I have only been to one once when I was very little. Lee-Congratulations on getting a job! I hope that your DH finds one soon. Yeah for Hunter going potty on the big potty! Rita-Your camping trip sounds like a lot of fun. Paris-I hope that you guys win your first T-Ball game. Quinn sounds adorable in her little dresses. Hi to everyone that I have missed. Have a good night everyone. Charline & Hayden(13 months) email: charline@mediaone.net Monday, May 22, 2000 at 17:52:09 (EDT)) Hi mommies. I am back to the land of the living! Yay! Jarin has now gone for 2 1/2 days with no nursing. He still asks for it, but he doesn't cry quite as much now. I know I will be sad when I know we are definitely done. **Moe: LOL at poor AJ and his haircut and you with your fat lip. My gosh, girl, do you ever not get beat up? =) Jarin's head is doing better. Sounds like AJ is quite a little ham when he is saying "hi" to everyone you see. I'm sure he was adorable. I know school is almost over. Yay! 14 more days! **Connie and Danielle: Welcome and Happy Birthday! **Darleen: I hope Nolan is not so grumpy for you today. **Kahne: I saw Cat - very cute. =) **Julianne: A 4-day weekend? I'm jealous, but I get a 3 day weekend, so I won't complain. LOL Yay for Colton going pee-pee in his potty! That's great. I ask Jarin if he wants to sit on the toilet and he always says "no,no". Guess he's not quite ready, huh? LOL. Sounds like Colton had quite a fun weekend with the branches, trampoline, etc. Jarin's face looks better today, but still a little bruised. **Paris: Good luck with your first t-ball game! I'm sure the kids will do great. We don't have a potty here for Jarin either. I ask him if he wants to sit on the toilet and he says "no,no". So cute. LOL at DH having his mid-life crisis. **Charline: too funny that DH went to get the video camera and Hayden made a little puddle. So, did dh get that part on video? LOL Take care, gals! =) Patty and Jarin - 20 3/4 months email: tematheny@ctlnet.com Monday, May 22, 2000 at 19:45:25 (EDT)) Hi Mom's and Tots! Darleen here! Well I think we are in for a rough night, I hope not, but it is not looking good so far. Nolan has been running a fever since 6pm, and had a runny nose all day, and he has a cough that sounds like a seal. I think it might be croup again for the third time in 18mths. I pray it's not. I have his window open, and the vaporisor going. Anyways, this is going to be a short post so I can get some sleep in case we have to go to Emergercy for a mask. Personals: Moe- It's sounds like you had a great time at the Zoo. We are hoping to take Nolan to a place called African Lion Safari, sort of like a zoo also, only it has a water park. Question for everybody on here... Does anybody live in Washington or Virginia on the TT board? Just courious, Dh is going to both places in a couple of weeks, and asked if I was interested in moving there! It would be a big move, but it is something to think about if anybody has any information that they could share with me, that would be great, I would greatly appreciate it. Patty- Good for Jarin going 2 days without nursing! Charline & Hayden- I was going to get Nolan a diaper, and he too peed on the floor, not knowing what he did. We asked him what he did, and he put his arms and shoulders up in the "I don't know position!" It was cute.We both got a laugh out of him. Paris- I hope you had fun coaching your first t-ball game. Did your team win? Bye everyone..... have a great night! Darleen & Nolan email: jndsmith@sprint.ca Monday, May 22, 2000 at 21:50:08 (EDT)) Hi Everyone from Alice & Nathan, Hope everyone had a great long weekend (Canadians, I don't think it was a long weekend in the States) We had tons of fun this weekend, Nathan was a little frightened with the fireworks tonight, but he got better the farther we moved away from them (LOL) My poor baby has a cold now, I only hope it is gone by the weekend, cause it's his birthday party on Sunday. I will probably have lots of personals since we haven't been around all weekend, so I apologize now if this post is long. SARAH - Happy birthday tomorrow, have a great time at the game. LISAB - Too funny, I won't be able to drive cause I spend so much time on the net, girl you're right behind me in milleage points on the net. LOL MARYANN - Don't really know who April Wine is but sounds somewhat familiar, probably cause I don't listen to anything but R&B, sounds like your having a little too much fun. LOL MARTHA - Don't beat yourself up, hey we all make mistakes and Mary Beth is fine. You now she just didn't want to eat the brocolli and carrots, so that's your hint not to buy it again. :-) MOE - Stop tormenting poor AJ with the clippers. We shave Nathan's head every week and it doesn't bother him a bit he says it tickles. PATTY - Hope you feel better soon. I sent you some pics sorry I forgot to earlier. JULIANNE - Good for you on getting the land, I just don't know how you country people do it, I love my city and having everything so easily accessible to us. SARAHG - Doesn't that suck when you get all hiped about something and it's just not what you expected. I am not much into country myself. If the stuttering just started I would think it is stress related, (with the breakup) I would leave it for now. MARYANN - The drive in is great, we also used to take Nathan when he was a baby, you get a night out and you don't have to worry about a sitter, he would sleep right through it. Nathan had a great time on the show, he was a little shy with all of the people there, but they did a little interview with him at the end, it was cute. Thanx for watching, I hear ya on the weight thing. LOL Just think before we had kids we looked like that too. LOL MOE - Come on you know your asking for it from me now, I know you and AJ are just on TT for my amusement, God you crack me up. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Aren't boys great! Seriously though, I hope your lip isn't too swollen. CONNIE - Welcome and happy birthday to Danielle and Mommy on Wed. KAHNE - Hey girl, nice hearing from you, come back we miss you! DARLEEN - Nathan feels about the same as Nolan about the fireworks, although he started getting used to them towards the end. Sounds like you had a hard day with Nolan, hopefully tomorrow will be better. JULIANNE - YEAH for Colton going pee pee, hey girl just wait for BM that's fun. Yeah right. LEE - You can vent on here anytime that's what we are here for. Glad I could help out. BM will take a while for hunter, Nathan is 3 next week and he just started consistently about a month ago, so don't worry, and if you can't afford a potty, try garage saling it's great and you can get some really great bargains. LISAB - Don't worry about Max walking in on you, I don't think they fully understand at that age, we tell Nathan that we are playing (LOL), you know we understand if you don't post to everyone, we all remember how tired we were when pg, so don't leave you don't have to post to everyone just me. LOL :-) CHARLINE - Very cute, I'm sure you didn't think so when you had to clean up, the puddle in the hallway. DARLEEN - I just read todays post, you know I was wondering if Nolan was sick because of the temperment, too bad, Nathan is also sick right now, sucks doesn't it. Okay ladies, gotta get my butt to bed work tomorrow, yuck! Alice & Nathan email: alicita@idirect.ca Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 00:05:26 (EDT)) Hi! Sarah g here. Gotta make this one quick, I need my sleep.....you all understand, right? Patty- Glad you are doing better!! Wow! Congrats on the weaning. I know it's hard to do! LisaB- Hey- don't worry about not being able to post to everybody. I think we all do when we can.... Kahne- Great Picture!! Alice- Hope Nathan is feeling better soon! Sofia is walking so much and talking more everyday. She's been just a bundle of spunk! Well, see you guys all later! Hey, I FINALLY got my dad and my uncle's website up! I sent some of you an email, but I goofed on the link! So, if you're into dice games (not the betting kind...) check out our page. Here's the part where I get to brag- I wrote all the html myself. yay! The url is: www.mypage.onemain.com/diceboards/mainpage.html Goodnight!! Sarah g and Sofia 13mo email: gat_men@hotmail.com Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 01:12:37 (EDT)) Paris here! How is everyone? :0) Well, my little tballers got their asses kicked! LOL We did pretty good considering all our kids are 4 and 5 and we were playing 6 and 7 year olds. A lot of the town showed up to watch which was great!!! It was a lot of fun. One problem though. Remember how I said the one who hates me was nice to me? Well, she is pulling her kid from tball. God, I have no idea why. Like her kid got the best position and played really well. Anyway, something about him being left handed and only having a right handed glove. Well, duh lady buy a glove. Anyway, whatever. I'm going to call her tomorrow and ask her if she is pulling him and if she is, then I will just say oh, that's too bad cuz I think he would really enjoy it, but if you are, please drop off the uniform. I'm done trying to be nice to her! I really could care less. So, anyway, Debb and I talked and we are going to do the cemetery thing here in town. I think I told you, not sure. Anyway, if I didn't they need a committee to sorta freshen up the cemetery and find out who is where and make it usable again. Plus, we are going to try and get a kindergarten class here. I, apparently, am now confirmed for the dunk tank for the church (yes you read that right - LOL) for Sports Day weekend. I figure they will make a killing of Cammy alone (the one that hates me!) ha ha. Anyway I trust everyone and their kiddies are doing great! :0) I did read the posts but I'm tired so I don't remember much except that Darleen was talking about moving to the States, Patty is having a better week, Alice didn't say hi to me (LOL), and was it Colton saying "bye..see ya!" cuz Quinn says that all the time. Way too cute. I'll catch up tomorrow. Just wanted to say how much fun we had tonight. It really was great! The parents all enjoyed it and the kids did too! So, next game is May 31! We'll kick Claresholm's butts then! LOL Talk to you tomorrow! Paris and Quinn email: pariscosby@hotmail.com Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 03:33:07 (EDT)) Hi Everyone, Well once again I have been gone to long to possibly catch up. Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and all you Canadians had a nice long weekend (wasn't quite long enough). Caelen turned 19mnths yesterday, and my DD Kyla turns 7 today. It is hard to believe. Did the birthday party thing on Saturday. It is much different when children hit school age. All the children have their own minds and it is hard to keep them all happy at the same time. DH was busy working at the new house, and not thinking I decided to do it by myself. I had 12 girls there (went to the local rec centre for a craft party). Thankfully 2 of the other moms stayed the entire time. I should take them out for a beer, they earned it lol!!!! But the kids enjoyed themselves and that is the main part. I know it it someone's birthday on this board, but I can't remember who it is, so to the mystery birthday girl, Best wishes and have a great day. I am going to have a very busy week. Moving day is in 4 days and counting. So in case I don't get back much, have a great week, and I will talk to you soon. Bye for now, Paula Paula and Kids Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 09:57:48 (EDT)) Good morning ladies...SARAH here. It's been a while. Don't have time to really do a bunch of posts, just wanted to respond to PAULA and ALICE. PAULA - OK, I'm the mystery Birthday Girl. So, THANKS!! :) ALICE - Thank you soooo much for the birthday wishes. I'm impressed you remembered! :) HANNAH's doing great! Played in the pool yesterday, and had a great time! Well, I'm not going to have as much time to post here anymore. I'll still be checking posts a couple of times a week...just not daily! Take care everyone!!!! GO AVS!!!!!! Sarah and Hannah (again) Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 12:02:28 (EDT)) Hello everyone! It's Corde and Sarah here! I am SO HAPPY that the weekend is over !!! THe wedding was great on Friday, and Sarah's bday party was great. It was a little wet and cold, but it went off w/o a hitch! Here are a few posts: Sarah and Hannah- I went to the Ped. yesterday and he said Sarah could use even adult toothpaste (in a moderate amount) He said it wasn't a big deal...justa bigger price for the baby paste... I've already purchased baby oragel, so we'll use that until it's gone! Glad you are feeling better too! Maryann - I hope you had fun at the Fest! Martha/MaryBeth - Yikes! Just be happy the "near disaster" did not amount to too much. I bet we can all say that we've "given in" to just have a bit of peace from time to time! I'm glad Marybeth is okay! Patty/Jarin -- Thanks for the t-paste tip! :) Julianne/Colton -- Ha ha with the attachment to the toothbrush! Connie/Danielle -- Welcome! Happy belated birthday!!! have a great day everyone! I took Nolan into Emerg at 5:30 am until 7:45 am, I was really upset with the service I received, but that is the Canadian Hospitals for you because of the supposed cutbacks. Damn DR's is all I've got to say! They didn't diagnose him with anything. They did a throat swab, and put a mask on him for the simple reason that it was maybe croup again. Then I came home and got ready for work. He seemed better, and they told me there was no reason to keep him home, give him tylenol every 4 hours, fluids, and lots of sleep. So needless to say he is napping right now. I wish I was also. 2 hours sleep just doesn't cut it! Oh well! Personals: Sarah- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SARAH, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! COULDN'T RESIST, HAVE A GREAT DAY OLD GIRL? LOL! Go Avs! Alice- I hope Nathan is feeling better for his b-day party. It started out as a cold at first, but now it seems worse then a cold. Oh well, I'm not a Dr, but I do know my kid, unlike what the Dr's think!! I'm only his mother! Paris- Moving to the States is just a thought for more money, my husband is greedy when it comes to making money, the more money he makes, the happier he is, and I am even happier! We will probably just stay in Canada since we want to buy a house next year, and hopefully have another baby by then! I told Dh I would move to Calgary before I would move to the States! LOL! Bye all have a great day! Gotta go and check up on my sick baby! Darleen & Nolan email: jndsmith@sprint.ca Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 15:50:17 (EDT)) Hello, Moe here. It is 102 degrees outside OMG! I don't even want to go out. I am not ready for this heat. I hate it!! Thanks for the concern on my lip. Unlike some people who tend to laugh at my expense. Just joking Alice!! My scab did fall of today! So it looks alot better. I just need to move a little faster. Charline - LOL on peeing on the floor. At least he did not pee on you like AJ did to me once. Oh my dog is a golden retreiver/Lab, pretty dog. Very laid back. He turned 8 years in March. He has been acting wierd. He is eating my grass. I think he is bored. But this summer we will be outback more, so maybe he won't be so bored. Patty - Boy I wish I could have nursed longer. But I don't think my 34 AA was not enough for AJ. He would have starved. BYW tomorrow is the last day of school for our district. When is yours? Hang in there! Darleen - Boy I hope Nolan is feeling better. Poor thing. There is nothing worse than a sick child. ALice - What is your theme for Nathans Birthday? I am glad I make you laugh. I have lots of AJ stories before I started to post here. You would really need those depends. LOLO Paris- Our t-ball only lets the kids bat twice. I can't believe you guys keeps score. If we did that, it would hurt alot of the kids feelings, since they are only 4 and 5. Paula - Hamppy 19th to Caelen Sarah - My pleasure!! Corde - My AJ loves to "butch teeth" that's how he says it. I use regular tooth paste, just a tad. Christine - Boy how do you do it. Two Jobs. Whew!! Hello to everyone else. I know what you mean about posting. It is hard to miss a day. Well I have an hour before I go into the hell heat!!I guess I better break down and turn on the A/C! Or we can all run around naked!!! ; 0 ) Moe and AJ Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 17:26:23 (EDT)) Hi gals - Hayley here. Well, DH's grandmother finally died over the weekend. Even though we were expecting it for a long time, and it was the end of a long period of suffering for her, Dh and his dad are taking it pretty hard. I took off Monday to spend at the nursing home helping DH, his dad and mom pack grandma's stuff up. Memorial service in June - they're gonna sprinkle her ashes on the San Francisco bay, since Dorothy lived here for so long and was such a classic "San Francisco dame" She was a little like those little twin ladies, Vivian and Marian, that you see doing the ads for Virgin Atlantic Airways - always had her hair done, Ferragamo pumps, stockings, etc. Interesting - she died just 5 hrs. before she turned 100. I find it funny, since she couldn't stand either Bill Clinton or Willard Scott, the two guys who might publically acknowledge her age! She also always lied about her age, she was so vain! Becca and I were actually the last family other than DH's dad to see her before she died. She did sort of open her eyes when Becca said "bye bye Dorothy" - so I think she was at least aware that Becca was there. When I heard Dorothy had died, I also watched our wedding video (5 yrs. ago this fall) and found we have a lot of footage of her, which will be great for Becca and her little cousin Eliana when they're older. Spent Sat. at a rummage sale/raffle fund raiser for Becca's day care center. Lot's of work, but kept our minds off the weekends events. We raised enought to stave off a tuition increase until next year. Took Becca to the beach on Sunday - it's been unseasonably hot in San Francisco. What's with kids and putting everything they find on the beach (sand, rocks, seaweed, bottle caps) in their mouthes? hayley and becca, 20 mos. Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 17:35:07 (EDT)) Hi everyone, its Debbie. Sorry it's been so long, AGAIN! I wish I a little more time to get on here and get to know all of you "new" mom's better and stay caught up with the "ol gang." I really miss talking with all of you. No time today to chat, but just had to send one special message today. ~*~SARAH~*~ Hope you have the best birthday ever. And many more to come! Talk to you later. Debbie & Emilee email: debngreg@qnet.com Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 18:07:23 (EDT)) Hello everyone from Julianne. Well, we have had no more success with the p/t. Everytime I set Colton on before bath time he does nothing and then when I put him in the bath he pees. What a little stinker. We went to my sister's daughter's pre-school graduation tonight. I was so proud of Colton, he sat through the entire event on my lap like such a big boy! Lee: Good luck with babysitting all those kids. Sure hope your DH finds a new job soon. Yeah for Hunter going on the big potty. If he is used to that I wouldn't bother with the small one--might just confuse him. Sorry to hear aobut your money situation. LisaB: Too funny about Max walking in on you two. As long as you still give us updates on Max we will be happy. We will miss your good advise though. I find posting from home I only find time to get on a couple of times a week now instead of everyday. Tara: Sure isn't fun when the car breaks down. The other day I shut the door wrong on the truck and it wouldn't close again. I had to drive home from work holding the door with one hand and steering w/ the other. Luckily Colton was a good boy and sang & jabbered the whole way home instead of crying or wanting snacks. Rita: Have fun camping. Paris: Whenever Colton is naked or talks about the potty we set him on. Too funny about your Dh & his midlife crisis. Moe: AJ sounds cute saying "hi & see-ya" to everyone. Colton does that too and it just cracks me up. Charline: Yeah for tooth #6. Oops for the puddle, just wait for him to start blaming such things on Teddy! Patty: Sounds like Jarin is doing well w/ not nursing, probably harder on you than him! Darleen: Sorry to hear Nolan is sick, hope he gets over it quickly. Alice: Hope Nathan is feeling better for his party on Sunday. We may have cows munching on the grass behind our house but luckily we are only 10-15 minutes away from all the stores and such. BM's in the potty sound so yucky. I hope he trains quickly. s Sarahg: Wow, what a computer wiz! We are looking into finding someone to design our web page for our business. It looks like it is going to be fairly complicated w/ search engines w/i search engines though. Paris: Wow, you sure are busy w/ all the projects you are volunteering for. Sarah: Just as long as you don't leave us for good we will let you get by w/ not posting everyday. LOL. Hope you had a great birthday. Shanna: Welcome back. I remember you from the BT board. Glad things are going well for Annie Grace. Hope all goes well with the move. Christina: Sorry that you were not able to visit you son on his birthday. It must really be hard, my thoughts are with you. At least you know Lys has a big brother watching over her. Hayley: My sympathies to you and your DH. That's great that you have some good video of Grandma so the Becca has something to remember her by. Well, once again it is past my bedtime so I had better end this post. Julianne & Colton 22 mo email: dnjjones@altelco.net Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 23:36:23 (EDT)) Just a quick post as I only was able to skim. Moe-Thank you for the pictures. One dr for 58 patients, and their bed side manner... should I say what bedside manner!! Hope little one is feeling better. Bye for now, Paula Wednesday, May 24, 2000 at 01:23:54 (EDT)) Hi everyone. With dads injury to his knee, I have been responsible for most everything around here. Anyway - I have ben checking in from time to time, but when it comes to posting - I seem to have lost all energy! I think it is going to continue this way thru most of the summer. So expect erratic posts from me - if ANY at all. I will try to get in here and post when I can, but it will be so much easier in the fall. I signed up for AOL IM (didn't know you didn't have to be an AOL member to get it - LOL) so if anyone is interested my buddy name is tellmeababystory I love chatting with you all about the kids, so feel free to continue to email me with pics and such, and I will try to respond to any emails. I had to come here to share with you what the LORD has done for us. If you don't want to read this I understand. But I have to share this with you. We were at the point that we had no money and next to no food and a week till payday. Istarted babysitting yesterday and the lady paid me for the whole week already. It was only $21 but for us that was a blessing. Then this morning I went to check my mail and my parents sent us an annv. card with a check for $200.00 in it!!!!! I cried and praised the LORD and cried some more!!!! HE answered our prayers. We knew we didn't have any way to make it so we've been praying and praying. So if you ever wonder does GOD hear you and answer prayers read this and know that he does!!!! He not only sent us money to buy groceries but enough left over for us to celebrate our ann. which is tomorrow. We plan to spend it together and with the kids. We feel it is also their annv. too. Because if GOD hadn't brought DH and I together then we wouldn't be the family we are today. (SO I know there are good things about being a blended family.) Anyway, Hunter is such a mess!! LOL He has been pee-peeing on the potty everyday 3 to 4 times a day. He made me so mad yesterday I thought I would lose my mind. Just when he was going to get in trouble he hugs me, tells me"Ilove you mama" and asked me to pick him up and hold him. In my arms he kissed me(just a peck) and then told me he wanted a BIG kiss. (That's where we kiss and say "MMMMMMM" I LOVE YOU) I INSTANTLY melted. Thank you GOD for little toddlers. They show you the true meaning of love. We have chuch tonite so I'm not sure if I can get back here tonight but thanks for all the positive responses and for letting me unload. MOE: hope AJ's exema clears up soon. Too bad we're not neighbors I'd run some of Hunters cream to you. That stuff works wonderful. Oh yeah I can't remember who said keep him on the big potty so as not to confuse him. Wonderful tip!! will try it this way since he likes the "big boy" potty. Ya'll have a blessed day and I hope I didn't offend anyone by sharing the LORD here. I couldn't help myself.LOL Lee and Hunter2.5 email: Lee-B@att.net Wednesday, May 24, 2000 at 13:28:54 (EDT)) Hi ladies. Just wanted to drop in and thank you for all the welcomes. We've had a rough few days, but I think things are looking up. I had posted that my 3 older kids got sick on Danielle's birthday. Well, she came down with a high fever on Sun.afternoon. It was about 103 and she was super fussy all day Monday. Finally, on Tues a.m. she seemed back to her old self so I took her out. I had plans to go to a curriculum sale with the homeschool group I belong to. It was outside at the park and was quite warm. Well, Danielle did fine and so I decided to run by the store real quick before her nap time. When we got in the store I looked at her and she was covered with little red bumps. They were on her face, arms, hands, legs, and feet. I immediately took her home. She fell asleep in the van so I decided to put her down for a nap and then check her before I called the dr. When she woke up the rash was 75% gone and she seemed fine so I didn't do anything. We went to pick up DH from work and by the time we got there, the rash was returning. I decided that if they weren't gone by this a.m. I would take her in. Well, this a.m they were pretty much gone. I have her check up on Fri. so I'll ask the doc, but I was wondering if this could be from the sun? She's been out in the sun before and never had any problems. Anyway, she is into everything today and happy as can be so whatever she had is gone. I'm hoping we'll be able to do something fun tonight for my birthday. We didn't make any plans since the kids were all sick. I'll try to do some posts tomorrow, but just wanted to thank you guys for the welcome and ask about the rash. Hope you all have a great day. Nothing much new here. Hayden is just having fun running all around the house and getting into mischief of course. Patty- That's great that Jarin went 2 1/2 days without nursing. Are you trying to wean him? My DH did get Hayden's puddle on video. Glad that you are feeling better. Darleen-I hope that Nolan feels better soon! Alice- I hope that Nathan's cold is gone for his birthday. I didn't clean up the puddle my DH did. Paula-Happy Belated 19 month Birthday to Caelen! Happy Belated 7 year Birthday to Kyla! Good luck with moving. Sarah-Happy Birthday! Hi Shanna & Annie Grace! Corde-Glad to hear that Sarah's party went well. Moe-Yikes 102 degrees! That is way too hot for me also. I can send some 50/60 degree weather your way if you would like. Julianne-That's great that Colton sat on your lap throught the whole graduation. I know Hayden will probably blame things on Teddy when he can talk. Theressa-Good luck with the farming. SarahG-good luck with the job search. Lee-Happy Anniverary! Glad to hear that the Lord answered your prayers. Connie-Glad to hear that Danielle is feeling better. I hope that the rash doesn't come back. Happy Birthday tommorrow! Charline & Hayden(13 1/2 months) email: charline@mediaone.net Wednesday, May 24, 2000 at 16:37:00 (EDT)) Hi Ladies and Little Ones, Shanna again, gosh this seems like DejaVu or something, but it's really because I really have been here before... LOL I think the move is upsetting Annie a little, she is running from room to room tearing the tape off all the boxes and throwing whatever she can in any open box or pulling things out. At this rate I'll never get moved! LOL Not looking forward to a 2 day drive with 3 dogs, 1 cat, a fish and a 13 month old! Arghhhhhh...... If we get to Houston in just 2 days I'll be surprised. We're planning on night driving since Annie really hates the car, she ok for about an hour max nowadays! She's such a little busy body. She's been walking since 9 1/2 months and is now in the climbing stage, everything people and animals included is a ladder to something she can't reach! This child just has no fear, both of my girls have been like that! It's terrifying! Thank God my son is at least cautious! It's so good to see some moms here that I remember and thanks for the welcome's from the one's I haven't met! Julianne & Colton - Thanks for welcoming us back! How's things up north? Good for Colton sitting through the graduation. We were at my neice's pre-k grad 2 weeks ago in Houston and right in the middle she stands up and says, Hi Annie, look there's annie! It was sooooo cute! Annie didn't behave quite as well and ended up in the waiting room with daddy! Well I guess I'll run for now and do some real packing during nap time! Hope everyone is having a great day. Got back an hour or so ago and thought I'd bette do a quick email check, and decided to jump on here too for a sec. It's busy busy busy, getting ready for Mia's 1st bday tomorrow. Had a horrible storm today that actually had a few twisters I think - and that's VERY rare for Ottawa. We were in our parked car in a lot waiting it out, and a HUGE sign blew off the road and landed on our car! Scared poor Mia half out of her wits! She cried and cried. Once she calmed a little, there I am battling the wind and hail, trying to get this thing off our car before it smashes our window or something. Scary! Saw it coming at us and leaned back to try to cover Mia incase it did break the windows. She's Okay though, just a little shook up. Anyway, gotta go, million things to do, sorry can't do personals, See ya! Maryann & Mia email: dareandmare@sympatico.ca Wednesday, May 24, 2000 at 21:35:08 (EDT)) Colton had to go to the dr today. Yesterday when I picked him up from dc I noticed 3 red raised bumps on his forehead. His forehead even looked swollen there. I didn't think too much about it even though he was running a low fever (99). Anyway today I got called from him dc that he had a temp of 101 and that he was crying and not his usual self. I decided I get a dr appt to check it out and since it was in the afternoon just to pick him up and take the day off. The dr thought it was just an alergic reaction to mosquito bites. Who knows. At least his fever broke tonight before he went to bed. Oh, and he weighs 25 pounds now. He looks like he is growing tons everyday. It was kind of nice getting to snuggle with him today. I even cleaned my house and baked cookies. DH was so surprised! Theressa: Sounds like you are going to be really busy this summer. Don't feel bad about not being a regular poster--just make sure to update us every now and then. Take care. Sarahg: Good luck job hunting. Lee: I was happy to read your post. It's great how things worked out for you. I know what you mean about our little ones helping to put a smile on our faces. Connie: Not sure about the rash. I would at least call your dr's office and talk to the nurse. The nurses are usually are really helpful at my dr's office when I call with my many questions. Shanna: Wow, Annie Grace walked early--sure keeps you on your toes chasing after her huh? Good luck with the drive, hopefully she will decide she likes riding in the car! We have been having tons of rain here so there is lots of water in our basement. It was even running in the bottom step threatening my shoes! I made DH get the wet/dry vac going. Maryanne: So glad that neither you nor Mia got hurt in that storm. Have fun planning her b-day party. Time to go to bed so nite-nite everyone. We have to watch his breathing overnight and his coughing is soo bad he is throwing up, anyways if he isn't better tomorrow they are going to admit him into the hospital, happy birthday to Nathan, yuck. Let's just hope the antibiotics and his inhalers work miracles in 24 hours. On to personals: SARAHG - Don't talk to me about sleep girl, I was up til 3 last night rocking Nathan so he would fall to sleep. Can't sleep cause when he lays his little head down he just coughs like crazy and he won't sleep with more than 1 pillow. So I sit in the rocker and try to hold him as upright as I can so he can get some sleep, the things we do for our kids huh, we should videotape this stuff and save it for when they become unruly teenagers, LOL. PARIS - HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, HI, Will that do princess, LOL. God I haven't talked to you in ages. If I am home with Nate tomorrow I will try to get you on ICQ. PAULA - Good luck with the move, hope it's not too stressfull! :-) SARAH - I think it's the summer time thing we all aren't posting as much anymore, even me believe it or not. LOL DARLEEN - I am guessing you went to Joseph Brant, if you can go to Oakville Trafalger they have a no wait policy for children, I always take Nathan their, great service and the doctors and nurses are great. Also consider getting an obstetrician in Oakville, cause I'm telling you girl the maternity ward is the best. Hope Nolan is feeling better soon, and if you think that he is sick I would take him to another doc for a second opinion, it doesn't hurt. MOE - Well we have finally broken from Sesame Street, namely Elmo, this year and Nathan has decided on dinosaurs. Although if we could convert Elmo into a dinosaur I'm sure that would make him very happy. HAYLEY - Not much I can say, but that I am truly sorry for your family's loss, our prayers are with you. JULIANNE - Sorry Colton is being such a little stinker with the pt, but you know I was just their and believe me when I say this it will happen, just relax and soon enough he will be going no problem. MOE - What pics did you send Paula, and where are mine. THERESSA - Just wanted to say Hi and don't worry if you are just reading and not posting, I think we are all starting to feel that summer time bug, outdoors so much not too much time to be on the computer. Take care and we'll talk when you have the time. SARAHG - I am the spokesmom, but I don't know too much about the toddler page, did visit it, but I am not familiar with the procedure of setting one up so if you want to go ahead. LEE - Don't ever be afraid of offending someone for what you believe, good for you girl, and I am extremely happy for you, have a wonderful anniversary with your family. CONNIE - I really have no advise as to the red bumps, my first guess was chicken pox, but they wouldn't disappear, probably is a heat rash. MARYANN - We had that same storm here in Mississauga, it was scary. Kay ladies that's it for tonight, gotta get to bed cause I'll probably be up later with Nathan. Talk to you tomorrow. Alice & Nathan (3 in 6 days) email: alicita@idirect.ca Wednesday, May 24, 2000 at 23:20:03 (EDT)) Hi gals, Hayley here. Becca had a great night with DH, as I had to go to a biz dinner. She rode her new little tricycle around the block (feet can't reach the pedals - she just pushes the ground with her feet), played soccer (sort of), and had a pizza feast. Funny, DH always complains when he has to watch Becca on his own, but then ends up having a blast! Looking forward to the long weekend - plan on going to a BBQ at friends, going to a beach party. Alice - hope Nathan recovers quickly, for both your sakes. Michelle - are you still around? Is the Toddler Friends site coming back - I actually showed up on Wed. for the chat, but couldn't get in? hayley and becca, 20 mos. Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 13:03:53 (EDT)) Hi gals, Hayley here. Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 13:03:58 (EDT)) I just found this sight and I have a couple questions for everyone... First...Our Daughter, Hannah, (or known by us as Boo Girl) is turning 3 in july and I am not sure what kind of a simple fun birthday party to give her? Second:...We signed her up for Pre-school but found out that we are second on the list and being a rural area there are not allot of choices. I was wondering if anyone has done a home-preschool for there 3 year old and what material did you use and how often did you do it... Thank you for taking the time to read....hope to meet some people as none of our friends/family have toddlers. Keri email: kerim@oregontrail.net Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 16:15:57 (EDT)) Hi ladies, Charline & Hayden here. The rain has finally left us here in Mass. So, Hayden got to go outside to play. It's a nice breezy spring day. Hayden has finally allowed me to put hats on him and he will keep them on for awhile now. I was worried about his head in the summer without a hat. Now, maybe I won't have to dowse his head with sunscreen if he leaves the hat on. Shanna-Good luck with the move. Maryann-That storm sounded very scary. I'm glad to hear that you and Mia weren't hurt. Happy 1st Birthday to Mia! Julianne-Glad to hear that Colton is feeling better and that his fever broke. What kind of cookies did you make? Alice-Sorry to hear that Nathan's cold has escalated to broncitis:( I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers that he will have a speedy recovery and feel better by his birthday. Hayley-It sounds like Becca had a great night with her Daddy:) Well, I hope that everyone has a good rest of the day. Charline & Hayden (13 1/2 months0 email: charline@mediaone.net Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 16:19:29 (EDT)) Hi Darleen here! Well....... Nolan still isn't back to himself. He coughed all night last night again. Now it sounds like it is in his chest the way he is coughing. Oh well, we have a Dr's appointment tomorrow with our Family Dr. If I don't get the answers I want, I am switching Dr's. I have had enough!! I called the office, and pretty much told them off, and told them I hate there Health Care here, and she said to me "Cutbacks"! Bull-____! Is all I've got to say. Nolan's health is #1 to us, and that is all I expect from a Dr is #1 care. Sorry to vent, but I am still pretty upset over the whole issue! Personals: Keri-As for your question on pre-school teaching. She is only 3, and most 3 year olds like singing, dancing, and doing crafts. I have my E.C.E, and as far as actual learning goes, they are mostly into playing at this age, especially in day-cares. They love to pretend, use there imaginations, explore, and interact with girls/boys there own age. I use to work in Day-care for 7 years, now I am a part-time SAHM, and work part-time at a play-group in an Excercise club. I hope this has helped you out.E-mail me if you have any other questions. Check out book stores, and the learning stores, they are a great help. Do you live in the States? I live in Ontario. Alice-Sorry to hear your little guy isn't well either. Lack of sleep on my end also, but it is worth it until he is healthy again. Dh wants to know how you know about Joseph Brant? We haven't heard any bad things about it, only good. They have nubain for delivering a baby, that is my main reason for moving here instead of some place else. That is what I used when I had Nolan. It worked wonderfully!! Also my Aunt is a Ward Clerk on the Baby floor, so that is all she says is good things. I guess I should have done some research. Happy Birthday to Mia!! Hayley- Glad to hear Becca had a great night with DH. I always worry also, especially when he screams as I am walking out the door. I know Dh can handle it, but Nolan is only use to me all day everyday!! Have a great day and night Mom's and Tots!! Darleen & Nolan email: jndsmith@sprint.ca Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 17:05:34 (EDT)) Moe here. Very nice today, thank goodness. The other day I was complaining about the heat..Well it got up to 107!!! But yesterday it was around 75. Nothing too new with my little man. He wanted to talk to DH on the phone today, when he got the phone he just gabbered. It looked like he was having quite the conversation. I did catch.."BYE-BYE..See ya...a mananna (hasta manana...thats Spanish for until tomorrow)He loves the phone. Haley - Sorry to hear about DH grandmother. Julieanne- I think it is funny when our child hits the warm bath water and pees!! Hope Colton is feeling better. I have reactions to mosquitos bites. As a child and even now, I swell up. Not too attractive!!! Theressa - You have too much energy for me!! Sarah g- I live in Western Kansas. I glad some of you girls get heat like us in the "Land of Oz!" Lee - That is something about what happened to you. Happy Anniversary! AJ exema is not getting any better. Someone on board said, I think Alice, that the heat will help. Let's hope! Connie - I hope Danielle is doing better. Charline - A little warmer please> 70's would be nice. Laser say HI to Teddy. AJ loves hats. But since we shaved his head the other day, I bought some extra SF sunscreen for his head. Shanna - Good luck on moving Maryann- Ohh scary. I'd be undercovers!! Alice - Poor Nathan. I hope is is better. I don't know what to tell you about the pictures. I did save them under jpg when I sent them to you. I will keep trying. I do want you to see my precious boxer boy!! Keri - I am trying to remember what games I played at my oldest sons party at three. Musicial chairs was fun. I play Picture Bingo!! It had picures on the cards instead of numbers. The names were in Spanish. And of course, a pinata!! My son gets a big kick out of that. I don't know if they make pinatas where you live, but they are fun. Little kids hit first, then the older ones can bust it!! Well better get back to work. It should be Friday. Yesterday was payday because it was the last day of school. So my body is thinking Friday. Oh well. To all the other mothers . Hello and Goodbye!! Moe and AJ 21 months Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 17:15:51 (EDT)) Hi ladies from Alice & Nathan, Just a quick post tonight, the antibiotics seem to be working Nathan is feeling a little better today, so I am back to work tomorrow, one day of work this week, Ha, ha, then I am off Mon and Tues next week. Geez I work too hard. LOL. Anyways we are not out of the woods yet with Nathan, his party is in 3 days so we have to keep hoping he is okay, keep him in your thoughts please. Personals: Hayley - don't worry becca will be reaching those pedals in no time. Have a great time at your bbq. Thanx for the well wishes on Nathan. KERI - Welcome and sorry no advise on the birthday cause I seem to always overdo the birthday thing. Hope some of the other moms can help you out. CHARLINE - Thanx for the prayers for Nathan I think they are working girl, he is feeling a little better today. Glad to hear the rain finally stopped for you. DARLEEN - My SIL had her second at Joseph Brant, and the care sucked, nurses were also pretty rude to family members, she had her first in Milton, and that place is worse, I'm telling you if you get the chance just go check out Oakville. You were concerned about the distance I am also 1/2 hour away but it is worth it to drive there. They never asked my family to leave could stay as long as they wanted to, have a beautiful garden outside with picnic tables and the whole bit, DH got to sleep there with me, and every day of my stay they asked if I was ready to go home, they didn't send me home til I said okay, nurses are the best. If your Aunt works there you probably will get good care, so you probably don't have too much to worry about. Hope Nolan is feeling better soon. MOE - I want to see your little boxer too, so figure it out girl and send me those pics. LEE - About the excema, the sun helps not the heat I know it seems like the same thing, but the natural sunlight will dry up the skin and get rid of the rash. When I was younger, (they don't do it anymore because of skin cancer) I would go to the hospital for prescribed tanning to get rid of excema or psoriasis. Kay that's it for tonight ladies, have a great one, and this is a busy weekend I'll try to post before Nathan's party on Sunday, but I can't promise anything, who am I kidding I'll probably be back tomorrow night. LOL Alice & Nathan (3 in 5 days) email: alicita@idirect.ca Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 23:27:56 (EDT)) Hello everyone, I am back! Its Jamie, and I dont think I have posted for about two weeks. I have been in Houston the whole time, and for some reason my Moms computer will not load this site. I finally got my laptop delivered, and here I am. This has been a really hard couple of weeks for us. I had to wean Gabriel because of my surgery, and that has been emotionally exhausting. The day after my teeth were pulled Gabe got his first fever ever, and had it for about 3 days. I think it was a combination of stress from teething and not nursing. It was so hard to see him hurting and feeling sick, and not be able to nurse him. If I hadnt been on medication, I know I couldnt have gone through with it. then I became engorged, and was just basically a mess. Now, for some reason, he is acting afraid of the bath, which used to be one of his favorite things. He also wont let me out of his sight, a natural reaction to weaning, I suppose. The mother of Gabe's godfather died last week, and we went to her funeral, which was hard. Thats one of the reasons we are still in Houston, because they are now moving here this weekend and want our help. Two good things are; Gabe went to sleep last night with his head on my chest, and didnt ask to nurse (it felt awesome!) and today he signed 'more, please'. Yeah! Things are looking up. Sorry to go on and on about negative things, I just needed to vent and havent been on in a while. Thanks for 'listning!' Only a few personals, because it would be impossible to catch up. Sarah - Sasha is a rottweiler. I love labs, one of my favorite dogs as a child was a chocolate lab. Martha - Gabe fights every diaper change, which drives me crazy. I mean, its not like we love to do it either! Hayley - so sorry to hear about your grandmother Romaine - Glad to hear you are doing well Connie - welcome - Gabe gets heat rashes, also. He has very sensitgive skin. I just try to keep him cool, and they dont seem to hurt him. Shanna - I am from Houston, and have been there for the past few weeks. I hope you enjoy it here. One of the advantages: you dont have to worry about moisterizer!sp well, sorry if I bitched too much, but I feel better now, and I hope to keep up from now on. Later! Jamie and Gabe - 15 months email: zeppelin2@msn.com Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 23:47:47 (EDT)) Marcus is getting to be such a stinker! He WILL NOT let me dress him any more. LOL He says "no, me do!" But it doesn't help matters that he still sticks both feet in one pantleg more often than not. Really slows the morning flow if you know what I mean. Ok - just quick tonight LEE - I am a firm believer that the Lord provides what we need if we have faith and do the right thing. You are just further proof of that. I hate to admit that I have been there too, and you think - how I am going to make it one more day - let alone another week! But the Lord provides a way! ALICE - Maybe I'll see you on ICQ - my number is 74083389 (Paris catches me from time to time!) Happy Bday to Nathan! Wow 3! CONNIE - nice to see you over here! Happy Bday to Danielle! Have fun posting here. (ok I already know you will! LOL) Alright - I just ran out of time. Later Theressa email: labor_story@yahoo.com Friday, May 26, 2000 at 02:14:05 (EDT)) Hello girls, Maryann here. Mia's bday party went great. We had to have it at our house instead of the park due to the weather. Too cold and possible storms. Very unpredictable lately. Mia got a billion presents it seems, I don't know where to put them all! Only slightly spoiled...And she loved the chocolate teddy bear cake that Mommy made. We got the good old pics of her diving in with both hands. So cute! ALICE: Bronchitis is not fun at all. I had it a couple of times now, and I just can't imagine what a little guy like Nathan must be going through. Thoughts are with him. JULIANNE: Hopefully it was just mosquito bites on Colton. Maybe blackfly or horsefly? They can really get big!! CHARLINE: I can get Mia to wear hats if I tie them on. So, I've stitched shoe laces onto all of her hat. If it's not tied on, she rips it off right away. I was worried about the summer sun too. Oh for the good old days when we were kids,eh? Didn't worry about that kind of stuff. DARLENE: I hope Nolan is feeling better soon. Hopefully not bronchitis or croup or something. Sending best wishes.... MOE: I don't want to hear about your warm weather, chickie. It's freezing here! And don't say, we're in Canada, of course it's freezing...lol . We usually have very hot summers. I've been walking around in sweaters and wool socks for two days now! Well, must go and find someplace to put my little 1 yr olds toys (gosh, one year!! I actually started crying when I was singing happy birthday...) Maryann & Mia (1 yr) email: dareandmare@sympatico.ca Friday, May 26, 2000 at 11:08:41 (EDT)) Thanks for your info...Hannah is not in daycare but we try to give her interaction with children in her age group...I just realized I am almost out of this area as hannah is turning 3 in july and Joshua is only 5 months old...hehe i'm an inbetween. I guess I should introduce my self a little more=) I live in Oregon, eastern oregon an hour away from idaho, where my hubby works for the Oregon State Police..., not a trooper but an electronics tech. There was so much posted since I was here yesterday that I had a hard time keeping up...=)lol I was sorry to hear of the loss of a loved one...It is hard...hang in there. DAELENE: thanks for all your info and we will keep doing the same things with hannah that we do, Reading, crafts things like that... I'm sorry to hear your little one is sick...when hannah was 14 months old she got Broncolitis different than broncitis. it is deeper in the lungs..we had to do breathing treatments...you might ask about that...we had a really great pediatrician..and she MOVED! i thought about holding her hostage..lol, hard to find a good dr. that cares as much as she did... hang in there. MOE: we can order pinatas...I love pinatas=)and picture bingo sounds fun..she would enjoy matching=) Thanks again!!!! Keri, Hannah and joshie's mom email: kerim@oregontrail.net Friday, May 26, 2000 at 12:14:24 (EDT)) Hi from LisaB. Max and I did pretty good with DH being gone all week ... but we're both glad he'll be home tongiht!!! MOE: AJ is quite a social little guy, isn't he!!! I bet Mommy was tried by the time you got home from the zoo. I think your version of t-ball is great ... these kids are too young to start competing already!! CHARLINE: So Hayden pees on the floor too, huh?! We can't start running the bath water unless Max is in the tub or we have puddles on the floor!!!! YEAH on the new tooth!! DARLEEN: I hope Nolan is better soon. SHANNA: Hi!!!! Annie Grace is 13 months already?! CHRISTINA: I'm sure Jonathan's birthday was a rough day for you. HAYLEY: I'm sorry to hear DH's grandmother's death was so hard on him. It's great that one of the last people she saw was sweet little Becca, telling her bye!! SarahG: Good luck finding a job!! LEE: If you only make $21/week babysitting you are underpaid. My sitter charges about $92/week until age 2 and then $69/week ... and from past posts here it sounds like my daycare costs are comparable to most. Or do you only sit part-time? CONNIE: Danielle might just have had heat rash. Max gets it on the back of his neck, etc. when he gets hot and sweaty playing outside, sometimes during naps, etc. SHANNA: Good luck with the mvoe!!! MARYANN: Happy birthday to Mia. I'm glad niether she or you were hurt by the blowing sign. JULIANNE: It sounds like you enjoyed your day off. ALICE: I'm sorry Nathan is sick. KERI: My babysitter does preschool for the kids she watches for about 2 hours a day. There is a local store that carries teaching materials - primarily for schools but the general public can also shop there. You might be able to mail order stuff - I would do a web search for home schooling. I just found this sight and I have a couple questions for everyone... JAMIE: I'm sorry you had to wean Gabriel. I remember weaning Max was probably harder on ME than HIM - LOL!!! Max generally loves baths but has gone through brief phases every now and then where he HATES them. We either make it real quick or give him sponge baths until he decides he wants to crawl back in the tub again. THERESSA: Marcus sounds hilarious, trying to dress himself!!
